What is the cause of spotting in late pregnancy?

Spotting in the late pregnancy may be due to the imminent delivery. The uterus begins to contract and the baby's head begins to fall towards the pelvis. Bleeding is caused by the friction between the fetal membrane and the uterine wall. It may also be due to placenta previa, early detachment, etc. There are many reasons why pregnant women may see spotting in the late pregnancy. If you see spotting, you must go to the hospital in time.

Clinical manifestations

1. Brown, pink and red are all possible colors.

2. The amount of bleeding is significantly less than that during menstrual period.

3. It usually occurs 24 hours before contractions, but it varies from person to person. There are also cases where spotting may occur repeatedly a week before.

4. Mixed mucus flows out with a viscous texture.

Treatment

Many women believe that they will have contractions immediately after they see blood. Because of the mental tension, they focus their attention completely on this, which leads to insomnia. The physical fatigue caused by lack of sleep will lead to decreased physical strength and lack of energy, which is very unfavorable for childbirth. Keep a good mood, wait actively and patiently, eat normally, ensure sleep, and maintain physical strength.

If there is only a light streak of blood and the amount is not large, the pregnant mother can stay at home to observe and pay attention not to overwork and avoid strenuous exercise. If you experience fresh bleeding, the amount of bleeding exceeds that during your menstrual period, or you experience abdominal pain, you should be hospitalized immediately. You can go to the hospital on your own, there is no need to call an ambulance.

Note: There are many reasons for bleeding in late pregnancy. Mothers must observe carefully and go to the hospital for examination if necessary to avoid misdiagnosis.
