What are the symptoms of low estradiol?

What are the symptoms of low estradiol?

Estradiol is a type of estrogen. If it is too low, women will show certain symptoms, such as hot flashes, palpitations and sweating, back pain, dull and dry skin, irritability, and short temper. It can also lead to osteoporosis and palpitations and shortness of breath.

Hot flashes

Without any inducement, the feeling of heat spreads rapidly from the chest to the face and upper limbs, sometimes accompanied by palpitations and sweating. Some people mainly suffer from hot flashes at night, often waking up in the middle of the night, sweating all over. Hot flashes and night sweats are caused by estrogen deficiency, which leads to anarchic vasoconstriction and relaxation.

Back pain

The pain spreads to both sides along the spine. It is relieved when lying on your back or sitting, and is aggravated when standing upright or stretching back or standing or sitting for a long time. The pain is mild during the day and worsens at night and when waking up in the early morning. It is aggravated by bending over, muscle movement, coughing, or straining during bowel movements.

Dull skin

You can imagine the condition of your skin in the days before and during your period: dry, dull, and lacking in radiance, with fine wrinkles becoming more obvious. This is the period when estrogen is at its lowest in the body.

Abnormal mental and neurological symptoms

Such as anxiety, depression, irritability, anger, crying, fatigue, crawling sensation on the skin, etc., always feeling like groups of ants are crawling on the skin and in the hair, which is very uncomfortable, but no abnormalities were found after dermatological examination.

Osteoporosis

During menopause, women's blood estrogen levels drop significantly, making them most likely to develop osteoporosis. Bones will become lighter, softer, more brittle, and more prone to fractures; height will decrease and the back will become hunchbacked; and symptoms of low back pain will appear.

Palpitations

Menopausal women say that this feeling is just like a guilty thief, which is very uncomfortable. When there is a sudden noise outside, sometimes the noise is not loud, but I feel a panic, my heart beats wildly, and it takes a long time for me to calm down. Repeated electrocardiograms, 24-hour electrocardiograms, and even treadmill exercise tests often show normal results, and at best they may manifest as sinus tachycardia during an attack.
