Can I take a hot spring bath during my menstrual period? Don't make the same mistake again.

I believe all female friends know that you cannot take a bath during menstruation as it can easily cause infection. Therefore, here we would like to remind all women that you cannot take a hot spring bath during menstruation. Staying in the hot spring for a long time is very harmful to your health.

1. Can girls take a hot spring bath during menstruation?

It’s best not to.

The principle of hot spring bathing is the same as that of tub bathing, because the cervix is open during menstruation, the body's resistance is low and it is easy to cause infection, and the water of hot springs is not sterile. If you take a hot spring bath during this period, the bacteria in the hot spring may invade the human body and cause infection. Therefore, it is recommended that you do not go to hot springs.

Also, many people know that warmth has medicinal value, and proper hot spring bathing can indeed be beneficial to health. However, despite the many benefits of hot springs, you should still avoid going into the water during menstruation, because the endometrium is particularly fragile during menstruation, and doing so may damage your body. Even if you take measures, you cannot avoid damage to the cervix. It will be too late to regret then. There are still opportunities to soak in comfortable hot springs. There is no need to play with your body for the sake of comfort. Otherwise, you will be left with a lifelong disease, and all kinds of sequelae will occur.

2. It is not advisable to take a hot spring bath 4 days before and after menstruation

Experts say that women should not take a hot spring bath during their menstrual period or within 4 days before and after. Although the water in the hot spring pool is circulated and disinfected, it is impossible for the water to be completely sterile. Although the female vagina has its own self-cleaning and natural defense functions, before and after menstruation, women's resistance is relatively weakened and they are more susceptible to bacterial invasion.

At the same time, due to the large temperature difference between the water temperature of the hot spring pool and the outdoor temperature, it stimulates the blood vessels to contract or expand. Such irregular changes in small blood vessels can delay the menstrual period and easily cause menstrual disorders. After menstruation, the cervix does not contract completely, and if you take a hot spring bath in unclean waters, the water containing pathogenic microorganisms can enter the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes and other reproductive organs, making it more likely to cause gynecological diseases such as bacterial vaginitis and salpingitis.

3. Specific hazards of hot spring bathing during menstruation

Taking a hot spring bath during menstruation can easily bring bacteria from the vulva and perineum into the vagina, cervix and even the uterus, causing endometritis or acute adnexitis (including fallopian tubes and ovaries) and pelvic peritonitis. In addition, the shed endometrium may flow back into the pelvic cavity and cause endometriosis. The above symptoms may cause increased menstrual bleeding, prolonged menstrual period, dysmenorrhea and other consequences.

Because the cervix is slightly open during menstruation, if the lower body is soaked in water, the pathogenic bacteria in the water can enter the uterine cavity through the vagina and cause inflammation. In addition, the cervix is not completely closed within three days after the end of menstruation, so it is not advisable to take a bath during this period.
