Breast duct adenocarcinoma is a relatively serious disease. In the early stages of the disease, there will be lumps in the breast and pain when pressed with the hands. As the disease progresses, the breast will ache dully, and the pain will increase significantly in the later stages. 1. Lump: Lump is the first symptom of some patients with breast ductal carcinoma. According to clinical observations, most lumps are located in the upper outer quadrant, followed by the upper inner quadrant and the nipple-areola area, and fewer in the lower area. The lumps vary in size, with 2-3 cm being the most common. They are mostly solitary but occasionally multiple. Although some patients with early-stage breast ductal carcinoma cannot feel a clear lump in the breast, they often have local discomfort, especially postmenopausal girls. Sometimes they feel mild pain and discomfort in one breast, or heaviness, soreness and discomfort in one shoulder and back, and even involve the upper arm on that side. 2. Pain: Most breast cancer patients lack pain symptoms. Since pain occurs less frequently, breast cancer is not easily detected early. Breast pain often manifests as tingling, distension or dull pain in the breast. If the cancer is accompanied by cystic breast hyperplasia, periodic pain may also occur. 3. Changes in nipple skin: The breast tissue is surrounded by the superficial fascia located under the skin, and the deep and superficial fascia are connected by Cooper's ligaments. Because the superficial fascia is connected to the skin, when breast cancer invades the Cooper ligaments between the breasts and shortens them, it will pull the skin, causing the local skin to become sunken, like a dimple, which is called the "dimple sign." In addition, direct adhesion of the tumor to the skin may also cause this situation. The dimple sign can appear at an early stage of breast cancer and is more obvious when the affected arm moves up and down. 4. Local skin changes The appearance of "dimple sign" on the breast skin is an important sign, which is caused by the involvement of Cooper's ligament or adhesion of the tumor to the skin. When cancer cells block the subcutaneous lymphatic vessels, orange peel-like edema may occur, and some people may develop varicose veins and satellite nodules. |
