What causes diarrhea during menstruation?

Menstruation is a woman’s best friend, and it must accompany women through those unforgettable days every month. In addition, the amount of menstruation and the timing of menstruation can reflect some physical and mental health problems. However, we found that during their menstrual period, some women experience no difference from usual, while some women suffer greatly from it, with stomachaches and bad temper becoming standard features of the menstrual period. Many women also said that they would have diarrhea during their periods.

What causes diarrhea during menstruation?

First, catching a cold. Many women usually do not pay attention to keeping warm. Now spring is here, but the temperature is still fluctuating. If you take off your thick clothes and change into thin clothes too early, it is easy for cold air to invade. In addition, if you don't pay attention to your diet during menstruation, eat whatever you want, and drink ice drinks as water, then uterine cold will come to you. When the stomach and intestines are stimulated by these cold foods, diarrhea will occur during menstruation.

Second, growth hormone. When menstruation comes, the growth hormone in our body will also undergo some changes, and the estrogen level in the body will increase. Coupled with unhealthy lifestyles such as staying up late, the body's endocrine system is out of balance, which can also irritate the gastrointestinal tract and cause diarrhea symptoms.

Third, blood and qi. During menstruation, we need to discharge the dirty blood from the body. If a person's blood qi is very poor, then if a large amount of blood is discharged at this time, it is easy to cause qi and blood deficiency, which will make the body weaker. If the blood and qi are insufficient, the digestion and absorption function of the stomach and intestines will also be affected, so diarrhea may also occur.

Fourth, gynecological problems. Women's physiological structure is very complex, and it is easy for them to have gynecological problems due to their lifestyle habits and other reasons, which can lead to diarrhea. If the impact reaches the uterus, it will also stimulate the gastrointestinal function. When the gastrointestinal tract is affected, not only will there be abdominal pain, but also frequent diarrhea during menstruation.
