There is a hard lump on the cesarean section incision, what should I do?

Many pregnant mothers compare the process of caesarean section because they have made all kinds of preparations to welcome their children. For cesarean section, a wound will be left after the operation. If it is not handled properly, it will cause lumps to form in the wound. So how do you deal with lumps that appear on wounds?

What to do if there is a lump on the cesarean section incision

The cesarean section scar begins to proliferate about 2 to 3 weeks after the surgical incision has healed. The proliferative period lasts about 3 to 6 months, during which the proliferation of fibrous tissue gradually stops and the scar gradually becomes flatter and softer, and its color becomes dark brown. At this time, the scar will feel painful and itchy, especially the irritation is the most obvious. Especially when you sweat a lot or the weather changes, you often feel itchy and want to scratch the scar. Therefore, special attention should be paid when caring.

1. Change the wound dressing frequently and keep the wound and the surrounding area clean and dry. Keep the scar clean at all times, wipe off sweat in time, and do not wash with hot water.

2. Protect the scab on the incision after surgery. Removing the scab too early will take away the epidermal cells that are still in the repair stage, and even tear off the dermal tissue, causing itching in the wound.

3. Under the guidance of a doctor, you can apply some topical medications, such as Fuqingsong, triamcinolone, dexamethasone, etc.

4. Improve your diet appropriately and eat more fruits, eggs, lean meat, pork skin and other foods rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, and amino acids. Avoid eating spicy foods such as peppers, onions, and garlic.

5. When resting, it is best to lie on your side with your body slightly bent to reduce tension on the abdominal wall. After the stitches are removed, avoid strenuous exercise, excessive extension, or lateral flexion of the body.
