What is the normal level of estradiol in early pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a period that every woman has to go through in her life, so many families pay special attention to it. However, during this time, you also need to pay special attention to some physiological changes in yourself. Estradiol is a very important indicator, so what is the normal value?

The normal value of E2 (estradiol) at 7 weeks of pregnancy is 25-309. Generally speaking, the concentration of blood estradiol is 48-521 picomoles/liter in the preovulatory period, 70-1835 picomoles/liter in the ovulatory period, and 272-793 picomoles/liter in the postovulatory period. Low values are seen in ovarian dysfunction, premature ovarian failure, and Sheehan's syndrome.

What is estradiol?

Estradiol is an estrogen therapy that is absorbed through the skin. It can supplement the deficiency of 17-β estradiol secreted by female ovaries, while avoiding the side effects caused by oral administration (breast pain, weight gain, high blood pressure, gallstones and abnormal liver function, etc.). Estrogen can stimulate cells to synthesize DNA, RNA and various proteins in corresponding tissues.

What are the functions of estradiol

1. Supplement the lack of estrogen. It is commonly used to treat female hypogonadism, bilateral oophorectomy, atrophic vaginitis, vulvar dryness, menopausal syndrome such as hot flashes, sweating, and mental and neurological symptoms.

2. Using estrogen to treat metastatic breast cancer can achieve remission in 40%.

3. Used to treat advanced prostate cancer, symptoms are significantly improved, pain is relieved, and estrogen therapy is added after testicle removal.

4. Prevent osteoporosis and be used to prevent rapid bone loss caused by estrogen deficiency in the early stages of menopause.

5. For the treatment of acne (blackheads), it can be used for more severe cases in men, and estrogen-progesterone combination preparations can be used in women.

6. Leukopenia: It is used for leukopenia caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy of malignant tumors, and has a significant effect of increasing white blood cells.

7. Used as emergency contraceptive pill.

8. Stop breastfeeding.
