What are the symptoms of premenopausal menstrual irregularities? Let’s gain knowledge together!

When women are about to reach menopause, their bodies have actually undergone significant changes, such as rapid decline in ovarian function. Ovarian decline will directly lead to menstrual disorders, so women will have corresponding abnormalities in menstruation before menopause.

1. What changes will occur in menstruation before women enter menopause? Under normal circumstances, during the period from when a woman's ovarian function declines to when her menstruation completely stops, menstrual changes can be divided into three different situations. The first is sudden menopause. Some women may have no abnormalities in their menstrual cycles and periods before, but suddenly experience menopause. It is also possible that your cycle is normal, but your menstrual flow gradually decreases until it suddenly stops. According to a survey, approximately 14.1% of women experience sudden cessation of menstruation before menopause.

2. Before women enter menopause, their menstruation may become less frequent and the interval between menstrual cycles will suddenly become longer. The normal interval is 20 to 30 days, gradually becoming 2 to 3 months. Some women even need a longer period before having a period. The menstrual flow may also decrease, and the interval between periods may become 4 to 5 months, or even once every six months, after which menstruation will stop completely.

3. Menstrual cycle disorders are also possible changes in women's menstruation before menopause. They are often manifested as irregular vaginal bleeding, prolonged menstruation or continuous vaginal bleeding, which may last for 1 to 2 months. Heavy vaginal bleeding may also occur. Women's faces will begin to turn pale, their bodies will become weak, and they will easily feel anxious and short of breath. In severe cases, hemoglobin levels will drop, bleeding will occur repeatedly, and it will take 1 to 2 years for menstruation to stop completely. The most common symptom of premenopause in women is period disorder, and approximately 63.8% of women will experience this change.

4. Under normal circumstances, rural women enter menopause at around 46-47 years old, while urban women, with better nutrition, enter menopause at around 50 years old. However, menopause can also be affected by factors such as genetics. As for the question of what menstrual changes women experience before menopause, I believe everyone has a certain understanding after reading the above introduction.
