With these traditional Chinese medicine treatments, you no longer have to worry about primary dysmenorrhea

Primary dysmenorrhea is also called functional dysmenorrhea. This type of dysmenorrhea is not caused by organ disease, but it still has a great impact on women. Women are already weak during their menstrual period, and it will be even more painful if they have dysmenorrhea. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment can effectively improve the symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea. Let’s take a look!

1. Cold and dampness stagnation type

Symptoms include cold pain in the lower abdomen, which is relieved by heat, scanty menstrual flow with dark color and clots, accompanied by a cold lower abdomen and cold sweats. In terms of nursing, you should pay attention to avoiding wind and cold, not eating raw, cold, spicy and other irritating foods, not wading or swimming, and not sitting in damp and cold places. Avoid getting wet in the rain when going out. Dietary therapy: ginger, jujube and brown sugar water, ginger, jujube and pepper soup.

2. Qi stagnation and blood stasis type

Symptoms include lower abdominal distension and pain during menstruation that is resistant to pressure, scanty and irregular menstruation, dark purple menstrual blood with clots, accompanied by distension and pain in the flanks, or breast pain before menstruation. Nursing should focus on venting emotions. In view of the irritability that may occur during menstruation, one should eliminate the tension and fear about menstruation, and keep emotions stable and mentally relaxed. Listen to cheerful music and go for a walk to distract yourself and keep your mood stable. Eat more foods such as wheat, onion, garlic, kelp, seaweed, radish, kumquat, hawthorn, etc. that can promote qi circulation, relieve depression, help digestion, and refresh the mind. Avoid drinking refreshing beverages such as tea and coffee before going to bed.

3. Liver and kidney deficiency type

Symptoms include continuous pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation, pain that is relieved by pressure, scanty menstrual flow, dark and thin menstrual volume, dizziness, tinnitus, soreness in the waist and knees, etc. Therefore, pay attention to regulating your lifestyle, ensure adequate sleep, strengthen physical exercise and improve nutritional status. In terms of diet therapy, black beans, eggs and rice wine can be cooked together and eaten.

4. Qi and blood deficiency type

This type of disease is mostly caused by the loss of Qi and blood during menstruation and after childbirth, which causes the blood chamber to open and allows external pathogens to enter the blood, resulting in blood stasis. Symptoms include persistent pain in the lower abdomen, pain when pressing, or a feeling of heaviness and discomfort in the lower abdomen, pale complexion, fatigue, and low volume of light and watery menstruation. Advise patients to keep warm, avoid sweating in the wind, get more rest and avoid fatigue. Try not to do strenuous activities during menstruation and pay attention to nutritional supplements. Eat more foods that replenish qi and blood, such as jujube, longan meat, yam, various beans, etc. Dietary therapy recipes: black bean egg wine soup, leek juice and brown sugar drink.
