Here are the answers to the dietary precautions for kidney stones

The occurrence of kidney stones is generally closely related to people’s eating habits. Therefore, whether it is for postoperative recovery or to prevent the formation of kidney stones, diet is extremely critical. So what specific things should be paid attention to in the diet for kidney stones?

1. What foods can’t you eat if you have kidney stones?

During the treatment process, patients with kidney stones should try not to eat rooster meat, beef, mutton, dog meat, pig's feet, donkey meat, turtle meat, and animal offal. These foods are rich in animal protein and can easily cause stones. Therefore, patients with kidney stones must control the intake of such foods. At the same time, all seafood animals such as fish, shrimp, crab, etc. must not be touched.

2. What vegetables should not be eaten for kidney stones?

Green vegetables such as beets, celery, green peppers, coriander, and spinach contain a lot of oxalic acid and should not be consumed in excess. At the same time, vegetables such as bamboo shoots, pumpkin, eggplant, garlic, onion, etc. should not be consumed too much. Leeks and mushrooms (including mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, popcorn mushrooms, etc.) are foods that cause kidney stones and must not be consumed. Beans such as soybeans, including soybeans, lima beans and black beans are rich in protein and greatly contribute to the formation of kidney stones, so they should not be consumed in large quantities.

3. What fruits should not be eaten for kidney stones?

Do not eat fruits and dried goods rich in oxalate, including lychees, longans, mangoes, durian and jackfruits, grapes, dried figs, stone fruits, etc. Acidic fruits such as apples can be eaten in moderation, but not too much.
