If you have oral ulcers, you must check these

Mild oral ulcers are a common phenomenon in life. It cannot be considered a serious disease, but it has a great impact on people's lives. Sometimes even the simplest eating becomes a problem in the face of oral ulcers. If you have oral ulcers, do not use medication indiscriminately, otherwise it will aggravate the condition. The first thing to do is to check and determine the condition.

1. Disease examination

Simple oral ulcers can be examined by visual inspection of the oral cavity; if the oral ulcer has a long course or is a concomitant symptom of other diseases, the primary disease should also be examined.

2. Disease Diagnosis

The diagnosis of the disease should be based on the time it takes for the ulcer to heal. Benign oral ulcers can generally heal in a few days to a few weeks, while malignant oral ulcers tend to develop progressively and may not heal for months or even years. Secondly, they can be distinguished by their morphology. Benign oral ulcers are generally regular in shape, round, oval or linear with neat and clear edges, clear boundaries with surrounding tissues, a smooth concave base, soft to the touch, and obvious pain. Malignant oral ulcers are mostly irregular in shape, with unclear boundaries, raised and uneven edges, an uneven and granular bottom, and a hard and tough texture, which is significantly different from normal mucosa, and the pain of the ulcer is not very obvious.

(iii) The types of oral ulcers can be distinguished by the course of the disease. Benign oral ulcers often recur and are self-limiting, whereas malignant oral ulcers have no history of recurrence and, once they occur, take a long time to heal.

(iv) They can be distinguished by systemic condition. Benign oral ulcers rarely have systemic symptoms, and the cervical lymph nodes are not swollen or swollen but not hard or adherent. The opposite is true for malignant oral ulcers, and some may even have cachexia. Finally, a judgment can be made based on the sensitivity to drugs. Benign oral ulcers generally respond effectively to anti-inflammatory and antiseptic drugs and heal faster; whereas malignant oral ulcers often "ignore" drugs and have little effect.
