What items should be checked when preparing for pregnancy?

Many of our newly married couples want a child, but there are many things to pay attention to when having a child. Only when we pay special attention can we better do the relevant care work during pregnancy, which is also conducive to the safer birth of the child. I believe everyone is particularly interested in what items should be checked in preparation for pregnancy. Let me briefly introduce what items should be checked in preparation for pregnancy.

Pre-pregnancy check-ups include general examinations, special examinations and gynecological examinations. The general examination includes 6 items to determine whether the physical health indicators are suitable for pregnancy; the special examination includes 5 items to rule out diseases that are not suitable for pregnancy or require postponement of pregnancy; the gynecological examination includes 4 items to determine whether the reproductive health indicators are suitable for pregnancy.

General inspection items:

Physical examination: including blood pressure, weight, heart and lung auscultation, abdominal palpation, thyroid palpation, etc., with the aim of detecting any abnormal physical signs.

Routine blood test: The purpose is to understand whether the expectant mother has anemia or infection. Blood typing is included in routine blood tests. Its purpose is to predict whether maternal-fetal hemolytic disease, such as ABO blood type incompatibility and Rh blood type incompatibility, will occur, in preparation for the possible need for blood transfusion.

Urinalysis: The purpose is to understand whether there is a urinary tract infection; preliminary screening for other kidney diseases, and indirectly understand whether sugar metabolism and bilirubin metabolism are normal.

Liver function test (including hepatitis B surface antigen): The purpose is to promptly detect hepatitis B virus carriers and viral hepatitis patients and provide timely treatment.

Electrocardiogram: The purpose is to understand the basic condition of the heart

Chest X-ray: The purpose is to detect whether there is tuberculosis.

You can have a chest X-ray three months before planning your pregnancy. In other words, after a chest X-ray, you must wait three months before considering pregnancy to completely avoid the possible teratogenic effects of X-rays on the fertilized egg. If you cannot clearly guarantee this period interval, do not do this test or postpone pregnancy.

There are many items that need to be checked when preparing for pregnancy. We must pay great attention to these items and check all the items before pregnancy to avoid causing more unnecessary harm to ourselves. At the same time, during pregnancy, our male friends must give our female friends careful care and attention.
