What to do with gastroenteritis during pregnancy

If a pregnant woman has stomach pain during pregnancy, it can easily cause excessive mental burden on the pregnant woman, leading to unbalanced nutrient intake, and in more serious cases it can affect the normal development of the fetus. We recommend that pregnant women with gastroenteritis do not have too much mental stress during pregnancy. Gastroenteritis can also get better results through conditioning treatment, which can effectively control the disease and achieve the effect of health preservation.

Stomach pain in pregnant women is mainly caused by sphincter relaxation and gastric acid reflux caused by pregnancy. After pregnancy, due to hormonal changes, the sphincter relaxes, and food can easily come up. It causes the acidic contents in the stomach to reflux into the esophagus, throat and mouth, irritating the mucous membrane. In the late stages of pregnancy, the growing uterus also presses on the stomach, and hormones relax the muscles that separate the esophagus and stomach, making it easier for stomach acid to surge up and cause a burning sensation in the chest.

Pregnant women usually experience stomach pain, bloating, and a strong burning sensation in the stomach during the 3rd to 6th month of pregnancy. However, some pregnant women may continue to experience these symptoms until they are about to give birth, which is normal. Stomach burning pain usually occurs in the early, middle and late stages of pregnancy. As the fetus continues to grow, the burden on the expectant mother's abdomen and body gradually increases. In addition, as delivery approaches, the number of abdominal pains will increase significantly compared to the second trimester. Eat small meals frequently every day, eat less spicy and sour foods, and do not lie down within half an hour after a meal. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and pay attention to a balanced diet.

Pregnant women who are diagnosed with gastroenteritis should not have too much mental stress. In daily life, they can adjust their diet for treatment, mainly eat a light diet, pay attention to nutritional matching, and when necessary, ask some doctors to prescribe some drugs to treat gastroenteritis. When the pain is unbearable, pregnant women can take a semi-sitting position to relieve the pain.
