Postmenopausal endometrium thickness 10 mm

Postmenopausal endometrium thickness 10 mm

It may be due to uterine wall disease, because after menopause, the standard value of endometrial thickness is not likely to exceed 0.3cm. This is because the uterine wall changes along with the menstrual cycle only during the growth period, and there is no change in the uterine wall after menopause. During the growth period, the uterine wall is generally thicker before menstruation, reaching about 1.8-2.0cm. After the menstruation is over, the uterine wall is very thin, only about 0.3cm. After menopause, the uterine wall will not exceed 0.3cm thick. It is recommended to do a diagnostic curettage first and do a pathological examination to see if there is any disease.

The thickness of the uterine wall after menopause is less than 4mm. If it is more than 4mm, it depends on the patient's symptoms, such as postmenopausal bleeding. Ultrasound examination indicates the presence of abnormal masses. According to the patient's description, the endometrial thickness after menopause is 10mm, and the symptoms need to be fused. Considering the need for segmental curettage, it is safer to do it for fear of uterine wall disease. Uterine wall disease mainly refers to the condition of atypical hyperplasia of the uterine wall and endometrial cancer. If the patient has no clinical symptoms and refuses to undergo curettage, a follow-up ultrasound scan to check the thickness of the endometrium is necessary.

What is the standard range of endometrial thickness after menopause? If the uterine wall is too thick, we will consider the risk of endometrial cancer. Therefore, the thickness of the uterine wall is closely related to our health. Today we will understand what is the standard range of endometrial thickness after menopause.

1

What is the standard value for endometrial thickness after menopause?

After menopause, the uterine wall will lose the function of ovarian hormones, showing shrinkage, and the squamous epithelial cells will also decrease, which are all conditions that will occur after menopause. However, if the uterine wall is between 0.4mm and 4mm, it is not likely to cause problems to the human body. However, within one to two years of menopause, because the uterine wall of women continues to shed, 4mm is considered normal. Women should understand that as long as the endometrial thickening does not exceed the range of 5mm, it will basically not cause any impact on the body.

Intima thickness is not a numerical value

The standard value of endometrial thickness is between 0.2-1.0cm. During menstruation, the functional layer of the uterine wall falls off, leaving only the dermis.

During the proliferative period, which is the 6th to 14th day of the menstrual period, the uterine membrane thickness reaches 1-3mm. During the 6th to 14th day of menstruation, the thickness of the uterus reaches 1 to 3 mm. In the early stage of hyperplasia, the thickness of the endometrium is about 4-6mm.

In the late stage of hyperplasia, the uterine wall gradually shows three strong echo lines. The middle low echo area is a double-layer functional endometrium with a thickness of about 8-10mm.

At the end of the hyperplasia stage, the three lines and two zones are more clearly visible, and the thickness of the endometrium is expanded to about 9-10mm.

How to treat endometrial thickening

Endometrial hyperplasia is divided into simple hyperplasia and multiple hyperplasia. After endometrial hyperplasia is discovered, it is necessary to first perform further curettage and ablation to conduct pathophysiological research to determine whether endometrial cancer exists. If no lesions occur, you can try regular oral estrogen treatment and ensure follow-up examinations every 6 months. If, after 12 months of medication, no good results are seen, hysteroscopic electrosurgical resection can be considered to remove the hyperplasia or cyst. However, if endometrial hyperplasia persists, bleeding continues, and the patient has no desire to conceive, hysterectomy should be considered.
