Our daily body temperature is not fixed. Even if you are not sick, if you measure your basal body temperature every day, you will find that your body temperature has been fluctuating. Even for a period of time, you will find that your basal body temperature continues to drop. Some people will feel worried and afraid that they have some disease. So, what causes the basal body temperature to continue to drop? 1. Ovulation When a woman's menstruation comes, her basal body temperature is low; after ovulation, her basal body temperature will turn to high temperature. Generally speaking, the fertilization rate of a woman becomes lower 24 hours after ovulation; however, a man's sperm can survive in a woman's uterus for about 72 hours. Therefore, women should have sex when their basal body temperature is low and close to ovulation. They can have sex every two days, which can increase the chance of fertilization. If they wait until their basal body temperature reaches a high temperature before having sex, the chance of pregnancy will be reduced. 2 Polycystic ovary This is reflected in the basal body temperature: the high temperature period is shorter, and in severe cases, low temperature may occur frequently. Women with this condition usually have familial hereditary diabetes. If they become pregnant and give birth, they are at high risk of gestational diabetes. 3. Poor ovarian function For people with poor ovarian function, the basal body temperature cycle will usually be shortened. The original 28 days may gradually become 24 days or 22 days, and the high temperature period will also be shortened accordingly. 4. Prolactin is too high If prolactin is high, the high temperature period of basal body temperature will be shortened and the quality of eggs will be poor, so it will be difficult to get pregnant or miscarriage will be easy. 5 Dangerous period (period of fertility) The high basal body temperature period is a safe period (a period when it is difficult to get pregnant), while the low basal body temperature period is a dangerous period, but there will also be individual differences in the low temperature period. For example, for young girls, their ovarian function is good and secretions are abundant, so the dangerous period is correspondingly longer and the chance of sperm surviving in the uterus is relatively high. Therefore, it is likely that the period starting from 5 days before ovulation must be regarded as a dangerous period. If you are preparing for pregnancy but don't know how to calculate your ovulation period, you can find out your ovulation period by measuring your basal body temperature. If you find that your basal body temperature continues to drop, it means that this period is your ovulation period. If you can increase the frequency of sexual intercourse at this time, it will be easier to get pregnant. |
