Treatment of ductal papilloma

Treatment of ductal papilloma

With the improvement of living standards, people are paying more and more attention to their own health. When they feel unwell, they will check in time. If they want to be healthy, they must pay attention to their daily diet, work and rest, and exercise. Abnormalities in these aspects will cause physical illness. Many people do not understand the milk duct papilloma, so let's introduce it in detail below.

Ductal Papilloma:

There is no effective drug to treat this disease, and surgery is the main treatment. For solitary intraductal papilloma, the diseased duct system should be removed. Correct positioning is required before the operation. Finger pressure is used to determine the opening of the milk duct where the discharge is coming from. A blunt-tipped fine needle is inserted and radial incisions are made along the needle tip or the methylene blue-stained papilloma site in the milk duct to remove the milk duct and surrounding breast tissue. Routine pathological examination should be performed, and radical mastectomy should be performed if malignant transformation is found. For older patients with active or gradual hyperplasia of the milk duct epithelium, simple mastectomy can be performed.

Intraductal papilloma is generally considered benign, but the rate of malignant transformation is 6% to 8%. In particular, we should be vigilant about the possibility of malignant transformation for papilloma originating from small milk ducts. It is generally believed that intraductal papilloma is benign, but 6% to 8% of cases may become malignant, so early surgical treatment is necessary. During the operation, a thin probe can be inserted along the bleeding opening of the nipple, and then the milk duct can be cut along the probe to find the tumor and remove it. For older patients, simple removal of the affected breast can be considered. The resected specimen should be sent for pathological examination and if malignancy is found, it should be treated as breast cancer.

After understanding ductal papilloma, the improvement of this disease should be carried out according to the patient's condition. However, after suffering from such a disease, the treatment time is relatively long, so patients should accept the treatment patiently, which will help improve their own disease. In addition, during the treatment process, they can also consult for any questions they do not understand, and patients should also pay attention to this.
