Generally, people who suffer from urethritis are basically caused by bacterial infection. It not only causes frequent urination and inability to urinate, but also affects sexual life. There are many symptoms of gonococcal urethritis. The key lies in whether you observe carefully. Moreover, its incubation period is relatively short, so people who are careful and attentive can quickly discover it. So what are the specific symptoms of gonococcal urethritis? Let’s take a look together.

Chronic gonococcal urethritis and chronic non-gonococcal urethritis in men are also common diseases in our lives. Many times, we suffer from the disease because we do not really care about our bodies. Urethritis is a common disease, which can be clinically divided into acute and chronic types.

It is more common in women, and the most common pathogens are Escherichia coli, Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. Urethritis is often caused by obstruction at the urethral opening or within the urethra, such as phimosis, posterior urethral valves, urethral stenosis, or urethral stones and tumors, or by inflammation of adjacent organs spreading to the urethra, such as seminal vesiculitis, vaginitis, and cervicitis. Urethritis can sometimes be caused by mechanical or chemical stimulation, such as instrumental examination and indwelling catheter.

Other pathogens besides gonorrhea mainly cause urethritis such as Chlamydia trachomatis and urealytic Mycoplasma. Currently, the incidence of chronic non-gonococcal urethritis is high and has become a disease that seriously troubles people.

If chronic non-gonococcal urethritis is not treated in time, the disease may become serious, so we must be responsible for our own bodies in our lives. Experts remind patients that no matter what illness you have, you should go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

Symptoms of gonococcal urethritis:

(1) Gonorrhea usually remains dormant in the body for 2-7 days.

(2) Acute infection: The main manifestations are acute urethritis, with serous or purulent secretions, itching and burning sensation in the urethra, and pain during urination; but there is no urgency or frequency of urination. Most patients often invade the posterior urethra within 1-2 weeks, characterized by frequent urination, urethral distress and dysuria. In addition to urethritis, the paraurethral glands, cervix, and fallopian tubes of women may also be infected. The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge with pus, lower abdominal pain, and frequent urination.

(3) Chronic infection: If the above symptoms persist for more than one month or acute symptoms recur, the symptoms are not as obvious as in the acute phase. A small number of patients have no symptoms at all, and urine striae may be the only symptom. Some manifestations are chronic prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymitis, etc. Women may have cervicitis, vestibular glanditis, endometritis, salpingitis, etc.

The symptoms of gonococcal urethritis involve many aspects, so as long as we pay attention, we can always find them. Secondly, in our daily life, to avoid the occurrence of such diseases, we must pay attention to personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, etc. When one of the couple suffers from urethritis, it is best not to have sex. This will not only not alleviate the condition, but will also aggravate the condition of the disease, so we must learn to restrain ourselves.
