Why do armpits turn dark after pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a very happy thing for women, and many women are looking forward to the moment of giving birth smoothly. However, there are some things that are very troublesome during pregnancy, such as darkening of the armpits after pregnancy, which is really unacceptable for women who usually love beauty. Experts say that the main reason for darkening of the armpits during pregnancy is that a large amount of melanocyte-stimulating hormone is produced in the posterior pituitary gland of pregnant women.

In addition, the levels of estrogen and progesterone also increase, which increases the amount of melanin in the body. Pregnant women experience pigmentation on their nipples, areola, linea alba, and other areas of the abdomen, as well as in the skin folds of the armpits and groin, like black mud that cannot be washed off. Pregnant women don’t need to worry. After giving birth, hormone levels will drop and the skin color will gradually return to normal.

This is probably the pigmentation of the skin under the armpits. It is related to hormone secretion and will appear and worsen during puberty and pregnancy. This is very common and many people have it. There is no specific treatment. If you want to reduce it, just like the skin whitening method, you can add vegetables and fruits that help whiten your skin to your diet.

If you want to change slight dullness, you can take some sea salt or coarse salt, wet it with a little water, apply a little to the dark areas under your armpits, and gently rub for about 3 minutes. Take two washbasins, one with cold water and the other with 40-degree hot water, put a towel in each and apply the hot towel to your armpits first for about 5 minutes. You will see improvement after 1 to 2 weeks. To improve moderate dullness, you can squeeze a little whitening lotion onto the palm of your hand. Then pour about 1 teaspoon of vitamin C powder and mix well. Apply it on the dark areas under the armpits and use it every day. After about 1 to 2 weeks, you will see obvious improvement.

The darkening of the armpits of pregnant women is due to the hormonal changes in the body after pregnancy. The secretion of progesterone and estrogen is vigorous, causing skin pigmentation; the secretion of melanin by the pituitary gland can also cause local skin darkening.

The skin under the armpits is delicate and sensitive, so it is recommended to use high-concentration vitamin C powder or fruit acid lotion to achieve the effect of exfoliation and whitening. To improve the dark skin under the armpits, you can also use some whitening products that can lighten the pigmentation.

VC application method: squeeze a little whitening lotion on the palm of your hand, pour a teaspoon of VC powder, stir evenly, apply it to the dark areas under the armpits, use it every day, and after about a week, there will be obvious improvements.

Fruit acid mask method: Mix fruit acid solution with fresh lemon and water, apply it to the dark areas under the armpits, and wash it off after 15 minutes.

It can be seen that it is normal for the armpits to become darker after pregnancy. Pregnant women do not need to worry too much. After a successful delivery, the color of the armpits will naturally return to normal. If you want to change the dark armpits during pregnancy, you can use VC application method or fruit acid application method to remove it. But you must follow the steps above to avoid causing great harm to your skin.
