Is endometritis serious after miscarriage?

Endometritis is a common gynecological disease. In fact, many women in life have endometritis to varying degrees. There are many causes of this disease, such as artificial abortion. Since the endometrium is damaged to varying degrees during the abortion operation, if the recovery after the operation is not good, endometritis will occur. Below, the editor will introduce in detail some situations related to endometritis after miscarriage.

What people usually refer to as endometritis is inflammation of the endometrium in the female uterus. This is a common gynecological disease. Experts also pointed out that if endometritis is not treated in time, the consequences will be very serious. When the inflammation develops to a more serious stage, it may affect the myometrium and become myometritis.

Experts also said that the main causes of acute endometritis are miscarriage, postpartum infection, placement of certain contraceptive devices in the uterine cavity, cervical dilatation, diagnostic curettage or cervical electrocautery, laser, microwave and other physical treatments. Ascending infection by pathogens such as sexually transmitted diseases can also cause the disease.

In addition, endometrial polyps, uterine submucosal fibroids, etc. can also cause endometritis. The causes of chronic endometritis are basically the same as those mentioned above. The lesions are only limited to the mucous membrane inside the cervical canal and some tissues underneath. The vaginal part of the cervix can be very smooth. Only purulent secretions or mucosal hyperplasia may occur at the cervical opening. The cervical opening may be red and congested. The biggest harm of endometritis is that it can cause female infertility.

After undergoing an abortion, women should get enough rest and pay attention to their diet and other aspects. It is best to go to the hospital for a follow-up check one month after delivery. If the recovery is not good or endometritis occurs, it is best to take some more effective treatments in time.
