How to treat uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are very common in life and are one of the diseases of women. Although uterine fibroids are benign tumors, they cannot be left alone and still need to be given enough attention, because this disease can develop into a more serious disease at any time, such as a malignant tumor. At that time, if it is discovered early, there may still be room for rescue. At the same time, the patient will suffer a lot during treatment. So how to treat this disease?

1. Expectant treatment

The fibroids are small, asymptomatic, without complications or degeneration, and have no impact on health. For perimenopausal patients without clinical symptoms, it is considered that ovarian dysfunction may cause the fibroids to regress or shrink. All of the above situations can be treated with expectant management, that is, regular follow-up observations in clinical and imaging aspects (once every 3 to 6 months). The treatment will be decided based on the review results.

2. Drug treatment

1. Young people who want to preserve their fertility. For women of childbearing age who suffer from infertility or miscarriage due to fibroids, drug treatment can shrink the fibroids and promote conception and fetal survival.

2. For premenopausal women, the fibroids are not very large and the symptoms are mild. After taking the medicine, the uterus will shrink and menopause will occur, and the fibroids will shrink accordingly, thus avoiding surgery.

3. Patients who have surgical indications but currently have contraindications and need to be treated before surgery.

4. Patients with concurrent medical or surgical diseases who are unable to undergo surgery or are unwilling to undergo surgery.

5. Before choosing drug treatment, it is advisable to perform a diagnostic curettage and endometrial biopsy to rule out malignant changes, especially for those with menstrual disorders or increased menstrual flow. Curettage has both diagnostic and hemostatic functions.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine

Take 1 to 2 main acupoints each time, and use them alternately, and add auxiliary acupoints as appropriate. The uterus point is pierced obliquely at a depth of 0.8 to 1.0 inches, and the qugu and henggu points are both pierced vertically at a depth of 0.6 to 0.8 inches. The degree of qi is determined by the sensation of qi. The method of equal tonification and equal drainage is applied. Except for the ear points which are treated with buried needles or magnetic beads, the methods of treating other points are the same as those of the main points. Body acupoints are selected bilaterally, while ear acupoints are selected unilaterally in rotation. Leave the needles in for 15 to 20 minutes. Acupuncture is performed every other day, and 10 times constitute a course of treatment. Auricular acupuncture or plastering should be performed twice a week, with 15 sessions as a course of treatment.

The above are several methods for treating uterine fibroids. At the same time, you need to pay attention to adjusting your diet. Treatment also needs diet therapy as an auxiliary, which is more conducive to the improvement of the condition and the recovery of the patient's body. You also need to pay attention to getting a good rest. Only after a good rest can all aspects of the body's functions function normally, so it is also very helpful for the recovery of the disease.
