What should you pay attention to when having sex during pregnancy?

Many women are affected by hormones and endocrine system after pregnancy, which will lead to increased sexual desire during pregnancy, causing accidents in sexual life during pregnancy and easily causing miscarriage. Therefore, most women will abstain from sex during pregnancy, but some people still have a certain amount of sex due to their strong sexual desire. In fact, experts tell us that it is okay to have appropriate sex during pregnancy, but you need to pay attention to some matters. So what should you pay attention to when having sex during pregnancy?

1. Basically, except for several high-risk pregnancies (such as placenta previa, antepartum hemorrhage, urgent abortion, and incomplete cervical occlusion), sexual intercourse can be carried out throughout the pregnancy.

2. During sexual intercourse, if the expectant mother experiences strong uterine contractions, abnormal bleeding, severe lower abdominal pain, etc., she should stop having sex and see a doctor as soon as possible.

The first three months of pregnancy are usually called the early pregnancy. During this period, the placenta is forming, the fetal organs are differentiating and developing, and the secretion of progesterone to prevent miscarriage is not sufficient. Therefore, miscarriage or threatened miscarriage is most likely to occur. This is the time when you need to be most cautious and sexual intercourse is absolutely prohibited.

In fact, in addition to sex, kissing, hugging, caressing, etc. are also very good ways to enhance the relationship between couples, and they do not cause any harm to expectant mothers in the early stages of pregnancy. For example, the expectant father gently strokes the expectant mother's slender hand, gives a light kiss, rubs between the woman's legs, etc. These will not directly cause stimulation, so the chance of miscarriage is reduced, and the feeling between each other will be better. Experts suggest that you should not have sex in the following situations!

Past experience of miscarriage: If the expectant mother has had a miscarriage in the past, the doctor will recommend that the pregnant woman abstain from sexual intercourse in the first few months of pregnancy until the risk period of miscarriage is over.

When there is a threat of miscarriage: If the expectant mother has vaginal bleeding during or after sexual intercourse, or has lower abdominal pain, she should see a doctor for a check-up. If there are signs of miscarriage, she should temporarily stop having sex.

The expectant father has a sexually transmitted disease: The bacteria of sexually transmitted diseases can be transmitted to the pregnant woman and fetus during sexual intercourse, so sexual intercourse should be avoided until he is completely cured.

Vaginitis in expectant mothers: Bacteria can be transmitted to the fetus during sexual intercourse, so sexual intercourse should be prohibited until the disease is completely cured.

When there is a problem with the placenta: If the expectant mother has placenta previa, or the placenta is not tightly connected to the uterus, sexual intercourse may cause miscarriage. Sexual intercourse should be temporarily stopped and resumed only after the situation stabilizes.

Uterine contractions are too frequent: If a pregnant mother finds that her uterus contracts too frequently, in order to avoid premature birth, she should avoid sexual intercourse and see a doctor for examination.

During the first three months of pregnancy, strong sexual desire should be avoided. Do not force sexual intercourse, as it will affect the fetus and easily cause symptoms of miscarriage. This is an issue that all men and women must pay attention to during pregnancy. After the fetal position is stable, you can have appropriate sexual intercourse, but you should also pay attention to the sexual posture, avoid strenuous exercise, and avoid excessive uterine contractions during sexual intercourse, which can easily lead to miscarriage.
