Cesarean section procedure

Cesarean section procedure

As the pregnancy progresses, the delivery method will be determined with the doctor based on the condition of the fetus and the mother during the prenatal checkup. Although cesarean section is less painful than natural delivery and the whole process only takes 30 to 60 minutes, the risks and morbidity of surgery are higher than natural delivery. Therefore, for the health of mother and child, if surgery is not available, natural childbirth is the best choice. If it is really too painful, you can choose labor analgesia. So what is the whole process of Caesarean section?

The whole process of cesarean section is divided into four steps: anesthesia, cesarean section, delivery and suturing. The whole process takes about an hour.

1. Anesthesia

After the anesthetic has taken effect, the doctor will make an incision in your lower abdomen (usually a horizontal incision shaped like a swimsuit), just above the pubic region. If you are still awake, you will feel the "cutting" sensation, but will not feel any pain.

2. Laparotomy

At this time, a second incision (vertical or horizontal) will be made in your uterus. The amniotic sac of the pregnant woman is opened. If it hasn't cracked yet, suck out the liquid. You may hear a trickling or gurgling sound of liquid flowing.

3. Delivery

Usually, the doctor will secretly take the baby out manually or with forceps while the assistant squeezes the pregnant woman's uterus. Because the baby's meningitis was hard, you could feel him being dragged out. If you really want to see the birth of your baby, you can ask the doctor if the baffle can be lowered slightly so that you can see the birthing process, but you still can't see it clearly. If the fetal cord is long enough, you can ask your doctor to give you a quick peek. The umbilical cord is then quickly cut, and your embryo is removed while your baby is being carefully cared for.

4. Suture

The doctor will quickly examine your sexual organs and suture the wound. The cervical incision is sutured with absorbable sutures, which do not need to be removed later. The incision on the abdomen is usually sutured with ordinary thread.
