How much do you know about biochemical pregnancy and menstruation

Many female friends have this kind of cold, that is, they have been preparing for pregnancy for a long time, and their menstrual period has long passed the usual menstrual period, but when we are secretly happy, we find that our menstruation has come. In fact, at this time we all need to understand the relevant knowledge about menstruation after pregnancy. Now let us introduce you to the relevant knowledge to help us prepare for pregnancy better.

Some women can see obvious colored bands when using early pregnancy test strips. Even if you have a blood test, you may find that the HCG value is greater than 25mIU/mL, but the value is generally low. When you check again after a few days, the color of the early pregnancy test paper becomes lighter and lighter, the HCG value also decreases, and symptoms of vaginal bleeding appear. These symptoms are actually manifestations of biochemical pregnancy.

What is a biochemical pregnancy

Biochemical pregnancy refers to early miscarriage that occurs within 5 weeks of pregnancy, also known as subclinical miscarriage. Everyone knows that pregnancy begins with the combination of sperm and egg to form a fertilized egg. Around the 7th day after fertilization, the fertilized egg will differentiate into the trophoblast, and the cells of the trophoblast will begin to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin, or HCG for short. In a normal pregnancy, HCG can be detected in the blood about 28 days after menstruation, and the gestational sac can be found through B-ultrasound.

However, in biochemical pregnancy, although HCG can be detected in the blood, it is higher than 25mIU/mL, or the early pregnancy test paper tests positive. However, the gestational sac cannot be seen during ultrasound examination because the fertilized egg fails to implant.

Symptoms of biochemical pregnancy

Biochemical pregnancy is often manifested by a delay of a few days in menstruation, vaginal bleeding that is similar to the usual menstrual flow, or slightly more than the usual menstrual flow, and occasional mild abdominal pain.

Causes of chemical pregnancy

So why does biochemical pregnancy happen? There are mainly three reasons.

1. The fertilized egg itself is defective. It is generally believed that embryonic chromosomal abnormalities may be the main cause of biochemical pregnancy. More than 50% of early miscarriages in the first three months of pregnancy are caused by chromosomal abnormalities.

2. Poor ovarian corpus luteum function. A poor corpus luteum will lead to insufficient progesterone secretion and endometrial abnormalities, which will affect the implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus.

3. Uterine factors. Uterine hypoplasia, submucous uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, intrauterine adhesions, endometrial tuberculosis, etc. affect the implantation of the fertilized egg.

How long does it take to get pregnant again after a biochemical pregnancy?

Biochemical pregnancy is a natural selection of survival of the fittest. If you encounter such a situation, you don’t have to be too nervous. Biochemical pregnancy generally will not affect the next pregnancy. Unless this happens multiple times, it is necessary to go to the hospital for further detailed examination, find out the cause, and provide targeted treatment.

So, how long should you wait after a biochemical pregnancy before you can get pregnant again? Some doctors recommend a rest of 3 to 6 months to allow the uterus enough time to improve its own adverse conditions that caused the miscarriage and to escape from the external environment that is not conducive to the development of the embryo. Biochemical pregnancy is a form of natural selection. It does not have adverse effects on the endometrium like a uterine curettage, so it does not require special treatment and conception can continue.

We have introduced the relevant knowledge about menstruation after pregnancy, such as the related symptoms and causes, etc. I hope that each of us can learn more about pregnancy by reading this knowledge. Although menstruation after pregnancy is not a big problem, it still requires our sufficient attention. If necessary, we must go to the hospital for relevant examinations to give birth to the baby smoothly.
