What to do if creatinine is low during pregnancy

Pregnant women should pay attention to their physical safety and health during pregnancy to avoid situations where physical problems during pregnancy may affect the patient's physical health. Therefore, patients need to pay attention to taking appropriate treatment methods in time to ensure the safety of pregnant women and fetuses. So what should I do if my creatinine level is low during pregnancy? Let me introduce my views on this issue to you below.

Creatinine is a product of muscle metabolism in the human body. It has a certain value. If it is too high or too low, it is abnormal, which means that there is a disease in the kidney. So what is the reason for low creatinine?

Creatinine is the most commonly used indicator for testing kidney function and is also a must-check item in health examinations. Many people who undergo examinations think that there is nothing wrong with their kidney function when their blood creatinine levels are within the normal range. In fact, this is a misunderstanding of blood creatinine. Because the blood creatinine value cannot reflect the status of kidney function in a timely and accurate manner. When most of the human kidneys suffer pathological damage and the glomerular filtration rate decreases significantly (more than 50%), elevated blood creatinine may manifest clinically. Therefore, the common misconception that "normal blood creatinine means that the kidneys are fine" should be corrected.

What is the reason for low creatinine? The creatinine substance in the human body is mainly produced by creatine from muscle metabolism, and creatinine is excreted from the body through the kidneys. Generally speaking, since the body's muscle mass is relatively stable, the amount of creatinine produced is also constant. The level of blood creatinine mainly depends on how much creatinine is excreted by the kidneys. The compensatory function of the kidneys is very strong. If both kidneys are normal, then as long as one kidney is functioning, blood creatinine can be maintained at normal levels. In other words, only when the degree of kidney damage accounts for more than half of the entire kidney will it cause blood creatinine to rise or fall. Therefore, serum creatinine does not reflect early, mild decline in renal function.

The above is my opinion on this issue. If a pregnant woman has the above problems, the patient needs to pay attention to take appropriate measures in time to ensure the health of the body and avoid dangerous situations caused by the above problems. Finally, I wish the patient a speedy recovery.
