Consequences and precautions of low placenta in four months of pregnancy

Sometimes, pregnant mothers will find that they have a low placenta when they go for a physical examination. A low placenta means that the lower edge of the placenta is less than 3 cm away from the internal os of the cervix. This situation is prone to bleeding, miscarriage or premature birth, so expectant mothers will be particularly worried. So today I will talk to you about the consequences and some precautions of low placenta in the fourth month of pregnancy. I hope it will be helpful to you.

Pregnant women do not need to panic if they find that they have placenta previa in the fourth month of pregnancy, because some of the placenta may be pulled upward as the gestational age increases and the lower segment of the uterus is formed, and it is not a true placenta previa. Pregnant women can regularly observe changes in the position of the placenta, be careful not to engage in strenuous activities, and refrain from sexual intercourse.

Anterior placenta: The placenta is attached to the anterior and lateral walls of the uterus, and the posterior wall is in a normal position. It is different from placenta previa: During normal pregnancy, the placenta is attached to the anterior, posterior or lateral walls of the uterus. If the placenta is partially or completely attached to the lower segment of the uterus or covers the internal os of the cervix, and its position is lower than the presenting part of the fetus, it is called placenta previa. Placenta previa can cause placental detachment and cause heavy bleeding, endangering the lives of mother and child.

There are three types of placenta previa: complete placenta previa, partial placenta previa and low-lying placenta. In comparison, low-lying placenta is a relatively mild type among the three types of placenta previa, requiring active bed rest to avoid premature birth.

There is no special treatment for a low placenta in the fourth month of pregnancy. You can only pay attention to bed rest, avoid fatigue, fright and sexual intercourse, and eat more high-protein foods. Because as the pregnancy progresses, the positional relationship between the placenta and the cervix may change. If there is no painless vaginal bleeding, continue to observe and pay attention to the above matters.

If the placenta is low in the fourth month of pregnancy, it may cause premature birth or miscarriage, so expectant mothers who have this condition should pay more attention. I hope my sharing will be helpful to all expectant mothers. At the same time, the editor reminds all expectant mothers to pay more attention to daily diet and rest, and hopes that all expectant mothers are in good health and have a healthy baby.
