1. Age

Nowadays, many women give birth between the ages of 30 and 40, and the childbearing age does have a certain impact on the health of the fetus. Women over 35 years old should pay special attention, because after the age of 35, the chances of pregnancy complications or congenital abnormalities of the fetus increase greatly. These are factors that must be considered. However, today's science is advanced and as long as they have a healthy diet and exercise, older women can still give birth to healthy babies.

2. Physical examination

Have a full body check-up to see if you are healthy and suitable for pregnancy. Women over 30 especially need to have such a check-up before pregnancy.

3. Check for German measles antibodies

Although rubella is not a serious disease, contracting it during pregnancy can have a fatal effect on the unborn baby and can cause miscarriage or serious illness in the fetus. You can have a blood test during your pre-marital health check-up, or check with your doctor three months before your planned pregnancy to see if you are immune to rubella. If not, you will need to receive an immunization injection.

4. Take folic acid

If you want to have a healthy baby, it is crucial to get enough folic acid before pregnancy and during the first three months of pregnancy because it is needed for the development of healthy fetal tissue. Folic acid helps the development of nerves. Bananas, oranges, avocados, green vegetables, liver, and yeast are all rich in folic acid. However, cooked food will destroy folic acid, so eating more fruits and lettuce salad is the most ideal way to take in folic acid. 5. Reduce caffeine

Coffee, tea, chocolate, cola or other similar beverages all contain caffeine. In order to avoid adverse effects on the fetus, it is best to refer to the following standards:

Do not consume more than the following amount of caffeine per day: 2 cups of coffee or 2.5 cups of brewed coffee, 4 cups of medium-strength tea, 4 cups of hot chocolate, 6 cups of cola.

6. Stay away from cigarettes and alcohol

If you or your partner has the habit of smoking, please refrain from smoking during pregnancy, as smoking can lead to various diseases such as premature birth, low fetal weight, infant respiratory problems, and sudden infant death. As for alcohol, the medical community has confirmed that alcohol can cause harm to the fetus, including miscarriage, premature birth, or intellectual disabilities in the baby.

7. Use medication with caution

Many drugs can cause harm to the fetus or even pregnant women. Therefore, before taking any medication, you should consult your doctor and confirm whether you are pregnant. Those who take oral contraceptives must stop taking them for two months before they can conceive.

8. Moderate exercise

Moderate exercise can reduce discomfort during pregnancy and childbirth, and help you regain your figure after delivery.

9. Work and life planning

Pregnancy is a major event in life and should be well planned. Not only should you prepare to provide a high-quality mother for your baby, you should also consider your financial situation, the career plans of both parties, work adjustments, living environment, whether to hire a nanny, etc. For working mothers, it is very important to communicate with their supervisor before becoming pregnant and let them know about their pregnancy plans. If you can let your boss know your delivery plans and when you will return to work, most employers will be willing to let you continue to work during pregnancy and after the birth of your child.
