Why does my pubic hair itch? Unmarried girls should beware of 5 gynecological diseases

1. Primary amenorrhea

Girls should start menstruating when they are 13-15 years old, and should have their first menstruation by 17-18 years old at the latest. If menstruation is delayed after 18 years of age, it is called primary amenorrhea. If a woman has had her first menstruation and then has amenorrhea, it is called secondary amenorrhea.

The onset of menstruation depends on the coordination of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ovarian functions and the cyclical response of the endometrium to sex hormones. The hypothalamus secretes gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which promotes the pituitary gland to secrete follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. Under the synergistic action of these two hormones, the ovaries secrete estrogen and progesterone, which act on the endometrium, causing periodic changes and shedding of the endometrium, which results in menstruation. As long as any one of these links is "stuck", primary amenorrhea will occur.

There are three main causes of primary amenorrhea: the first is mental factors, such as negative emotions such as tension, fear, worry and excessive sadness, and anorexia nervosa. Both can cause amenorrhea. The second reason is gynecological diseases, such as congenital absence of the reproductive system (no vagina, no uterus, no ovaries) or poor development, endometrial tuberculosis (commonly known as dry blood tuberculosis), antagonistic ovary syndrome, etc. The third category of factors is caused by physical illness. The human body is like a machine, and the internal organs are like parts of the machine. If a part breaks down, the machine will malfunction and fail to operate normally. By the same token, certain diseases can also cause primary amenorrhea. Common diseases include anemia, diabetes, tuberculosis, thyroid dysfunction, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, pituitary tumors and sex chromosome abnormalities, etc.

2. No pubic hair

Pubic hair is one of a person's secondary sexual characteristics. After puberty. Pubic hair and underarm hair should appear due to sex hormones. Moreover, pubic hair appears earlier than the age of menarche, and pubic hair appears around the age of 12. If a young girl who has gone through puberty has no pubic hair, she may suffer from endocrine diseases such as Donald's syndrome, simple gonadal dysgenesis and testicular feminization. Of course, if the pubic hair receptors are impaired or absent. Or if the hair follicles are diseased or too sparse, pubic hair may be sparse or even absent.

3. Vulvar itching

Married women suffer from itching due to vaginitis and vulvitis. Vulvar itching in young girls is often caused by wearing synthetic underwear, jeans or other tight-fitting outer pants that wrap around the buttocks for a long time, without paying attention to the cleanliness of the vulva.

Synthetic fiber or nylon underwear is not breathable, which causes local moisture and heat, affecting the respiration of perineum cells and causing itching. The perineum is contaminated by leucorrhea, urine, feces and menstrual blood. If you do not pay attention to local cleanliness and hygiene, these dirt will irritate the local skin and cause vulvar itching. If the perineum suffers from skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and neurodermatitis, it can also cause vulvar itching.

4. Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is the occurrence of obvious abdominal pain before, during, or after menstruation that affects study, life, and work. There are two types of dysmenorrhea: primary and secondary. Most dysmenorrhea in teenage girls is primary, which is mainly caused by excessive prostaglandin levels in the endometrium. When dysmenorrhea occurs, there is severe pain in the lower abdomen, and sometimes the pain radiates to the vagina, anus and waist. When the abdominal pain is severe, the patient will turn pale, break out in cold sweats, have cold hands and feet, and may also experience nausea, vomiting, and even fainting. Generally, abdominal pain will not be relieved until the menstrual blood volume increases.

5. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding during puberty

Also known as adolescent functional uterine bleeding, it is caused by delayed maturation of the hypothalamic center that manages the synthesis and release of pituitary gonadotropin. The hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis cannot function normally, and the ovaries have ovulation disorders. Follicles develop in the ovaries and can secrete estrogen, but they cannot mature. The estrogen level in the blood fluctuates with the growth and atrophy of the follicles. When the estrogen level is high, the endometrium may undergo proliferative changes; when the estrogen level is low, the endometrium loses support and becomes necrotic, exfoliated, and bleeding.

The clinical manifestations of functional uterine bleeding in adolescence are mainly menstrual cycle disorders and changes in menstrual volume. For example, the menstrual period varies in length, and the amount of bleeding varies. Sometimes it is just dripping and never stops, and sometimes it is like a hemorrhage. If this continues for a long time, it can easily cause anemia.

From this it can be seen that even unmarried girls are likely to suffer from gynecological diseases. When an unmarried girl shows abnormal conditions such as "unopened buds", no pubic hair growth, vulva itching, abnormal menstruation or severe abdominal pain during menstruation, she should see a gynecologist in time. Don't be shy and avoid seeing a doctor, so as not to delay the disease and affect your health.
