6 situations in which women need to see a gynecologist in time

Pelvic pain

Dysmenorrhea disappears quickly after a woman ovulates. But if the pain persists for too long, you should see a doctor. Your doctor will check for benign uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and pelvic infection. If pelvic pain comes on quickly and suddenly, it may be a ruptured ovarian cyst with bleeding. Additionally, pelvic pain accompanied by vaginal bleeding may also be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. Of course, there is little link between pelvic discomfort and ovarian cancer. You should only be tested for ovarian cancer if you experience daily bloating, pelvic pressure, and frequent urination for more than two weeks.

Irregular bleeding

There are many cases of abnormal bleeding, including prolonged menstruation, two periods a month, bleeding during sexual intercourse, etc. The causes may not be serious, such as premenopausal symptoms or uterine fibroids, uterine polyps, etc. If you bleed every time you have sex, you may have an infection such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, or other sexually transmitted diseases. If you are a postmenopausal woman, vaginal bleeding is a potential sign of uterine cancer. Of course, vaginal bleeding at any time should be checked.

Abnormal discharge

Vaginal secretions have a peculiar smell and are accompanied by itching, burning sensations or blood in the secretions. Common types of infection for these symptoms are cervical infection, bacterial vaginosis or Trichomonas, which are easily cured. Of course, you should ask a doctor to check to rule out sexually transmitted diseases.

itch

Vaginal itching without discharge is likely due to skin irritation from using soap or personal care products. If you notice any changes on your skin, be careful. A skin disease called scleroderma can cause itching and white spots to form on the vulva. The white spots will gradually grow into a whole area, and the skin will eventually become thinner and wrinkled. If not treated, it will affect urination or sexual life.

Vaginal dryness

Breastfeeding women or menopausal women may experience vaginal dryness, but the symptoms will be relieved after breastfeeding women resume ovulation. Not only does the vagina of menopausal women become dry and atrophied, but the vaginal walls also become thinner, making sexual intercourse painful and prone to infection. You can ask your doctor to prescribe estrogen cream for lubrication.

Ulcers or lumps

Women with cysts and skin tags in the groin area may feel a lump when touched. Pregnant women with varicose veins may also feel a lump in the vulva. These are not serious problems. But some vulvar ulcers may be herpes or cancer. Symptoms of vulvar cancer include wart-like bumps and red, flat ulcers that do not heal for a long time. Melanoma can also occur on the vulva as a brown, raised mole in the groin. It should be noted that melanoma does not mean that melanoma will not occur in places where the sun does not shine.
