How mature is the follicle?

How mature is the follicle?

Conceiving life is a magical thing. Pregnancy can only occur when mature follicles meet normal sperm. If there are follicles but they are immature, pregnancy cannot occur. Most women only have one mature follicle that can be discharged during each ovulation period, and only a small number of people have two or even three mature follicles. Therefore, most people are pregnant with single babies, and only a few are pregnant with twins or multiple babies.

Whether the follicles are mature and how big they are considered mature depends on the individual's physical condition. Everyone's situation is different. Some women's follicles are not particularly large when they are mature, but they can be discharged normally. However, some women's follicles are relatively large when they are mature. Therefore, it is impossible to fully define how big they are considered mature. In most cases, they are about 20mm in size. Today we will take a closer look at it.

Introduction

Mature follicle: One of the structural components of the ovary. The follicular cavity is large and the cumulus is prominent. The follicular endometrial cells are close to the granulosa layer of the follicle and are separated from the granulosa layer cells by a basement membrane. The endometrial cells are polygonal, with clear cytoplasm and round nuclei. Many capillaries can be seen between the cells. The exometrial cells are located in the outermost layer, mostly spindle-shaped, and have no obvious boundary with the surrounding connective tissue. Corona radiata.

Mature follicle size

Every month, women will only release one mature egg, and this mature egg is generally considered a mature egg when it is larger than 20mm. However, there are individual differences. Some people will release the egg when the follicle grows to 15mm, while others will release the egg when it grows to 25mm. The specific individual situation can be determined by a periodic B-ultrasound examination. Generally, mature follicles will be discharged within one to two days, and the discharged follicles can generally survive for 2 days.

How long does it take for the ovulator to mature?

In order to arrange sexual intercourse time reasonably and improve pregnancy rate, it is important to predict women's ovulation period. Some women have their period once a month, while some women may have their period every 20 days, 40 days or even 2 to 3 months. Obviously, these women did not all ovulate at the same time. When do these women ovulate? Do they always ovulate in the middle of the menstrual cycle? First of all, we need to briefly explain the physiological changes of the ovaries. In a woman's menstrual cycle, the period before ovulation is called the follicular phase, which is the period of egg growth, development, and maturation. By the end of this period, the egg matures and ovulation occurs. The period from ovulation to the next menstruation is called the luteal phase, which is the period of development and degeneration of the corpus luteum. Generally speaking, the length of the menstrual cycle is mainly determined by the length of the follicular phase. That is to say, the length of the follicular phase varies greatly, while the luteal phase is relatively fixed, usually around 14 days. The ovulation period is before the luteal phase, so the ovulation period is mostly 14 days before the next menstrual period. For example, suppose a woman has her period every 30 days and estimates that October 1st is the first day of her next period. Then her ovulation period should be 14 days backwards from October 1st, which is September 16th. Suppose another woman has a 40-day menstrual cycle and starts her period on October 1, the first day of her next period may be November 11. Then her ovulation period may be 14 days forward from November 11th, which is October 27th. By analogy, you can calculate the ovulation period for women with different menstrual cycles. According to the above method, it is easy to get pregnant if you have sex 2 days before ovulation, during ovulation and within 24 hours after ovulation.

Everyone has a basic understanding of how big a follicle needs to be to mature. If a woman who wants to get pregnant has immature follicles, she can monitor the growth of the follicles. If the follicles cannot grow to maturity on their own, she can use appropriate drugs to promote follicle growth. However, she needs to be diagnosed by a doctor before using the drugs.
