Picture of baby in pregnancy

Pregnancy is a matter of great concern to every expectant mother. She is excited and anxious, and pays attention to the growth and development of the baby in the belly every moment. So how big is the baby at 2 months of pregnancy?

At the second month of pregnancy, the early test tube embryo looks more and more like a baby. The hands and feet of the fetus begin to separate. By the end of the second month, the hands and feet are basically formed, and the eyes, nose and mouth can be basically seen on the face. At this time, the fetus has basic independent movement, but because the fetus is small, the expectant mother cannot notice it yet.

When the pregnancy reaches about 5 weeks, the neural tube defect of the test tube embryo gradually forms. These neural tube defects gradually grow into the future brain and spine. Therefore, in the early stages of pregnancy, in addition to paying attention to supplementing appropriate nutrients, protein, and fat, expectant mothers also need to take 400ug of folic acid tablets every day. Expectant mothers can eat more foods such as vegetables, bananas, apples, milk, etc., and also need to supplement folic acid. Around 7 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus is 2-3 cm larger and weighs 4 g. All systems and organs have basically begun to develop, but they are naturally not complete. The embryo is gradually formed, and the embryo gradually becomes the main bridge connecting the mother and the fetus. From then on, the main nutrients for the fetus are all provided by the embryo.

During this period, pregnant women still need to pay attention to avoid overwork, rest more, avoid climbing or strenuous activities, avoid going to crowded places, avoid sitting or standing for a long time, keep warm, and pay attention to avoid fever and colds, because this is a critical stage for the disintegration of the test tube embryo and the growth and development of the brain and internal organs of the human body. Avoid contact with harmful substances and do not take medicine casually. If abdominal pain or abnormal bleeding or discharge in the vagina occurs, go to the hospital immediately for medical treatment.
