Lochia recurred after cesarean section

Lochia recurred after cesarean section

The whole process of pregnancy is like a long march of 25,000 miles. Pregnancy is not just about giving birth. From the various preparations for pregnancy in the early stage to the postpartum care in the middle and late stages, you must not be careless. Some mothers failed in the final stage of the 25,000-mile Long March because of poor postpartum care, which led to major problems with their uterus. What is the reason why women who have undergone cesarean section suffer from recurrent lochia?

Why do women who have had cesarean section have recurrent lochia?

1. There may be some infection in the uterus.

2. It is possible that there is pregnancy material such as an embryo in the uterus.

3. It is also possible that some remnants of membrane and other tissues are left, or the uterus has not been completely restored.

How do you know if a pregnant woman has persistent lochia?

1. Normally, postpartum lochia has a fishy smell, not odor. Stubborn postpartum lochia is the secretion discharged within 1 to 4 days after giving birth. It is large in amount, bright red in color, and contains blood, decidual tissue and mucus. It is similar to the menstrual period, or slightly exceeds the menstrual volume, and sometimes even contains blood clots. Serous lochia is discharged around the 4th to 6th day after giving birth. It is light red in color and contains a small amount of blood, mucus, and more female secretions, as well as pathogens. Lochia alba is the white or light yellow postpartum lochia that is discharged one week after giving birth. It contains a lot of white blood cells, decidual cells and bacteria. It looks like secretions, but there is more than normal secretions.

2. Although every pregnant woman has postpartum lochia, the amount discharged by each person is different. The average total output is about 500~1000ml. The duration of lochia discharge varies from pregnant woman to pregnant woman, and it usually takes about 3 weeks for a normal pregnant woman to be clean. Under normal circumstances, postpartum lochia has a fishy smell, but not smelly, the amount is no more than the menstrual amount, the color is transparent, shiny, not dark, and not turbid. After about ten to 20 days, it will be clean. If the lochia is still leaking after more than 2 months after giving birth, it should be considered that it is impure lochia. Common causes of unclean lochia include some infections in the uterus, some remnants of pregnancy tissue such as embryos and decidua in the uterus, and incomplete uterine recovery.

3. If the lochia is still not clear one month after the cesarean section, and is accompanied by a foul or foul odor, or is accompanied by abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms, then the uterus, bilateral fallopian tubes, vagina, and uterus and ovaries may be infected; if the amount of lochia discharged actually increases day by day, the color becomes redder and darker day by day, or there are some bruises, or is accompanied by uterine bleeding, vaginal trauma, or infectious symptoms, etc., causing the lochia to continue to be unclean, everyone must pay enough attention and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

Having a child is a big deal, but also a difficult problem. From the initial preparation to postpartum care, you need to be extremely careful. Once you are a little careless, the consequence may be that the baby or the mother suffers great harm, which no one wants to see. Dear female friends, don’t think that everything is over after giving birth, but you don’t know that there is still a journey waiting for you to continue. Don’t think that all abnormal phenomena are normal conditions after giving birth. Remember to go to the hospital immediately when any unusual situation occurs.
