What causes sweating after childbirth?

Some pregnant women have found that they sweat a lot since they gave birth to their babies. The temperature was not hot, but when I woke up I found that my whole body was almost wet, and I would sweat a lot if I ate something hot. This confuses many pregnant women, and some people wonder if this is due to their own weak constitution. Therefore, today we will understand together: the reasons why you always sweat after giving birth.

Why do I keep sweating after giving birth?

Sweating a lot after childbirth is mainly due to the active metabolism of the skin, which discharges the water accumulated in the body during pregnancy out of the body through the skin. It is a physiological phenomenon of the body recovering after giving birth and carrying out self-regulation, and it is not a psychological distortion. In addition, pregnant women drinking more brown sugar water, hot water, and hot porridge is also one of the reasons for excessive sweating. Puerperal sweat is usually more obvious 1 to 3 days after delivery and improves on its own about 1 week after delivery. During pregnancy, the body accumulates a lot of water, which needs to be discharged after giving birth. After giving birth, the qi and blood are insufficient, so of course you will sweat. It is normal if you don't have other discomfort symptoms. Don't worry too much. There is no big problem. Just eat more nutritious high-protein foods. Pregnant women have weak constitutions, so there are many things they need to pay attention to. The indoor temperature should not be too high, 16 ~ 20 ℃ in spring, winter and autumn, and below 28 ℃ in summer. Proper indoor ventilation should be maintained to keep the indoor air flowing and fresh. If the wind is too strong, do not open windows for ventilation. Pregnant women should wear appropriate clothes and blankets, and avoid wearing too much or using too thick a mattress. If you sweat all the time, wipe it anytime and anywhere, and change your underwear in time, which can reduce the occurrence of gynecological diseases.

When should I go for a follow-up visit after giving birth?

The time for postpartum check-up is 42 days after giving birth. The confinement period is from the time the baby is delivered to 42 days after giving birth. Through the recovery during this period, other parts of the woman's body, except the breast tissue, need to be restored to their pre-pregnancy state. Therefore, the new items for the follow-up visit on the 42nd day will mainly be pelvic B-ultrasound to understand the condition of uterine repair. Gynecological examination to check whether the cervix has closed and the state of perineal wound healing.

If a pregnant woman has gestational diabetes during pregnancy, she needs to be screened for diabetes again at 42 days to rule out chronic diabetes. If you have had high blood pressure before, you need to have a follow-up blood pressure and urine test 42 days after giving birth. For pregnant women with retained placenta during delivery, it is recommended to have another follow-up ultrasound about one week after giving birth. If necessary, a uterine curettage may be required. There is also a test for the calcium content of breast milk. Pregnant women who are exclusively breastfeeding must check the amount of calcium in their breast milk. If the calcium in the breast milk is insufficient, it is necessary to supplement it in time and eat more foods high in calcium. However, supplementation does not mean that the calcium content in the breast milk is sufficient, because everyone's ability to absorb calcium is different. It is best to do a calcium content test every month.

The 42-day checkup after childbirth cannot be ignored. It can timely understand the recovery status of the pregnant woman's body, deal with various diseases in time, and prevent the mother's disease from affecting the baby's health. Through postpartum examination, the mother can also learn how to supplement postpartum nutrition and take good contraceptive measures.
