How many days does it take for the basal body temperature to be high to indicate pregnancy?

In daily life, many women suddenly find that their body temperature has risen recently and there is no sign of it going down. Are they pregnant? In fact, during the ovulation period, embryo implantation, and early pregnancy, the body temperature will undergo some changes, resulting in sustained high temperature, which may even last for a long time. So, how many days does the high temperature last before pregnancy?

How many days does it take for a high temperature to be considered pregnancy?

1. Implantation and cooling down a few days after ovulation

The female menstrual cycle is generally 21-35 days (the average is about 28 days), which is separated by ovulation. The day after ovulation, the uterus and ovaries produce progesterone, which metabolizes estrogen, causing the body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.6 degrees Celsius, causing the body temperature to change between high and low phases. When ultra-low temperature transitions to high temperature, there will be an extremely low temperature, and the day when the extremely low temperature occurs is the ovulation period. The high temperature period lasts about 12-16 days (14 days on average). When you find that the body temperature suddenly drops one day during the high temperature period (about the 6th to 10th day after ovulation), and then rises significantly on the second day, this sudden ultra-low temperature is implantation cooling.

2. How much is the embryo implantation cooling?

The embryo generally cools down after implantation. How much does it cool down during implantation? The cooling intensity during implantation is generally around 0.5℃. Women with different physical fitness have different conditions, and the intensity of cooling during implantation varies to a certain extent. How much does it cool down when you are in bed? Women need to persist in measuring their basic body temperature every day. The accurate measurement of body temperature during ovulation should be carried out in the morning, and make sure to sleep for more than 6 hours the night before. It is not accurate to rely on body temperature during ovulation to determine whether the combination of sperm and egg will lead to embryo implantation. If the menstruation is delayed for more than 7 days, you can use an early pregnancy test strip to test, or go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound examination to more accurately check whether you are pregnant.

3. Implantation cooling lasts for several days

Under normal circumstances, the implantation cooling lasts for 1 day, and the body temperature will return to normal the next day. Implantation cooling is a reference symptom for determining successful embryo implantation during sperm-egg fusion. During ovulation, a woman's body temperature will drop, but after successful ovulation, her body temperature will continue to rise, lasting about 12 days. Embryo implantation usually occurs between the 8th and 10th day after ovulation. If the body temperature suddenly drops but rises significantly the next day, this sudden drop in temperature is cooling for implantation. By accurately measuring the body temperature during ovulation, it is possible to determine whether pregnancy is present. If a woman's high temperature period exceeds 16 days and enters the 18th day, then the possibility of pregnancy is very high, but it is recommended to go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound examination to confirm whether the pregnancy is successful.
