60 days after delivery, the lochia is still not clean

Postpartum lochia is a normal condition for pregnant women after giving birth. It will usually be discharged about 20 days after giving birth. However, if the lochia does not clear up for a long time, such as 60 days after giving birth, then it is an abnormal phenomenon of lochia that occurs unconsciously. What is the reason? What are the reasonable treatment methods?

The reasons why postpartum women have continuous lochia

1. Negligence during delivery surgery causes rupture of the uterine wound, which is one of the key causes of late postpartum hemorrhage and residual lochia. In recent years, due to the improvement of pregnancy pathology and social factors, the high level of attention to the fetus and the influence of pregnant women's fear of pain have gradually increased the cesarean section rate, and postoperative complications have also increased. The level of surgeons is related to the rate of late postpartum hemorrhage and lochia.

2. Infected pregnant women who have placental abruption, delayed labor process, repeated vaginal examinations, artificial rupture of membranes, induction of labor with water bags, or use of gas chambers to promote cervical perfection and other vaginal operations before delivery; pregnant women themselves have severe anemia during pregnancy, moderate to severe pregnancy-induced hypertension, diabetes and other pathological conditions; coupled with pregnant women who do not pay attention to vaginal hygiene after delivery, are afraid of pain and do not clean the perineum, all of which can cause female vaginal and uterine cavity infections, resulting in poor uterine repair or poor wound healing, resulting in unclean lochia in the late stage of delivery.

3. Incomplete uterine repair. Intrauterine infection and a small amount of residual embryonic membranes can cause incomplete uterine repair.

4. Embryonic polyps: If the fetal membrane remains during childbirth, the remaining tissue will necrotize and orginate in the uterine cavity, and free fatty acids will accumulate on the surface, resulting in polyps.

5. Other diseases such as endometritis, submucosal uterine fibroid infection, and choriocarcinoma can also cause postpartum lochia.

What should I do if my mother has persistent lochia?

2. Common over-the-counter medicines for treating long-term postpartum lochia include: Motherwort Capsules, Motherwort Paste, Xinshenghua Granules, Guizhi Fuling Pills and other blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicines.
