During the pregnancy, pregnant mothers need to go to the hospital on time to do different tests so that the doctor can understand the health status of the pregnant mother and determine whether the fetus is at risk of developmental abnormalities. The NT test is a screening method used to assess whether the fetus has Down syndrome. It is usually done between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy. Some pregnant mothers asked whether the NT can be done at noon? The NT examination mainly uses the B-ultrasound instrument to accurately measure the thickness of the fetal nuchal translucency layer. This examination does not require holding urine or fasting, so pregnant mothers can eat and drink normally. Therefore, it is no problem to do the NT examination at noon. However, if the fetal position is not good during the examination, it is difficult for the doctor to accurately measure the thickness of the translucency layer. At this time, the doctor will let the pregnant mother go out for a walk and let the fetus change the fetal position before the examination. If she does not cooperate, she will have to make another appointment another day. The thickness of nt is closely related to fetal malformations. When accurate measurement finds that the thickness of the fetal nt exceeds the normal range, that is, the thickness exceeds 3mm, it indicates that the fetus has a high risk of Down syndrome, and the larger the standard value, the higher the risk. For pregnant mothers with high-risk nt test, further examination is needed, that is, Down syndrome screening should be done at 15 to 20 weeks of pregnancy. If the Down syndrome screening is also high-risk, amniocentesis or minimally invasive DNA should be done. Pregnant mothers must understand that nt does not always exist in the fetus's neck. It only appears briefly at a specific time, usually at 11 weeks of pregnancy, and around 14 weeks, when nt will slowly be absorbed by the fetus's body's lymphatic system and become another thing, the nuchal fold (also called FN). Therefore, if you do nt examination after 14 weeks of pregnancy, the result will be affected and the accuracy will be reduced. The NT examination is the nuchal translucency examination, which examines the thickness of the skin layer on the fetus's neck and back, thereby reflecting the accumulation of tissue fluid in the subcutaneous tissue. The NT should be scheduled in advance, instead of going to the hospital for an immediate check-up at 11 or 12 weeks of pregnancy. It is impossible. Generally, hospital outpatient clinics need to be booked more than ten days in advance. If it is a consulting hospital outpatient clinic with a large number of consultations, it may take more than a month in advance to make a reservation. Some pregnant women are still worried about whether it is better to do NT at 11 or 12 weeks of pregnancy. In fact, it is already very good to be able to schedule a NT, not to mention that the results of NT done at 11 or 12 weeks of pregnancy are the same. |
