Normal blood pressure chart for women

Normal blood pressure chart for women

The standard values of blood pressure for different age groups make it convenient for modern people to immediately understand their blood pressure, deal with hypertension in time, and seek treatment in time. Hypertension has become one of the diseases that harm modern people. Normal blood pressure is a prerequisite for the smooth flow of blood circulation. Blood pressure is maintained normal under the regulation of various factors, thereby providing various tissues and organs with sufficient blood to maintain normal metabolism. Both low and high blood pressure (hypotension, hypertension) can cause serious harm, and low blood pressure is a sign of death, which shows that blood pressure has important ecological significance. So, how much does a normal blood pressure meter for women cost?

Normal blood pressure chart for women

The blood pressure range of normal adults under resting conditions is relatively stable, with normal ranges of systolic pressure 90-139 mmHg, diastolic pressure 60-89 mmHg, and pulse pressure 30-4250 mHg.

Abnormal blood pressure in women

(1) Hypertension: Without the use of antihypertensive drugs, adults over 18 years old have a systolic blood pressure ≥14~250 mHg and/or a diastolic blood pressure ≥9~250 mHg. (2) Hypotension: blood pressure less than 90/6b250mHg.

There are two methods for measuring blood pressure: direct measurement and indirect measurement. The direct blood pressure measurement method is to insert a long tube containing anticoagulant into the pulmonary artery through percutaneous puncture. The tube is connected to the liquid level sensor and the blood pressure is displayed directly. This method is invasive and is only suitable for some special circumstances. The indirect blood measurement method is the cuff pressurization method, which uses a sphygmomanometer for accurate measurement. There are mercury column type, spring type and electronic sphygmomanometer. The indirect measurement method is simple and easy, and is currently widely used in clinical medicine.

1. Measurement method (cuff pressure method)

(1) The brachial artery is at the same level as the heart. When lying on your back, it should be level with the mid-axillary line; when sitting, it should be level with the fourth rib.

(2) Roll up your sleeves to expose your arms, keep your elbows straight, and your palms facing up.

(3) Turn on the sphygmomanometer, place it vertically and turn on the power switch of the mercury tank.

(4) Remove the air from the cuff and wrap the cuff around the middle of the arm, with the lower part 2 to 3 cm away from the elbow. It should be tight enough to insert a finger.

(5) Touch the brachial artery heartbeat, place the stethoscope head where the heartbeat is obvious, fix it firmly, gently pressurize, close the cylinder, and inflate until the brachial artery heartbeat subsides and then rises by 20 to 3b250mHg.

(6) Deflate slowly, with the mercury column decreasing by 4 mmHg/s. Pay attention to the changes in the accuracy of the mercury column and the sound of the brachial artery.

(7) The specific accuracy of the mercury column when the first heart sound is heard during auscultation is the systolic pressure, and the specific accuracy of the mercury column when the heart sound suddenly weakens or disappears is the diastolic pressure.

(8) After the precise measurement is completed, the remaining air in the cuff is emptied, the screw cap on the valve side is tightened, the cuff is removed, and after being combed, it is placed in the box, and the power switch of the mercury tank is turned off.

(9) Record the measured values in the form of a square, i.e., systolic pressure/diastolic pressure.

2. Frequently Asked Questions

(1) The sphygmomanometer should be inspected and calibrated regularly to maintain its accuracy. (2) For those who need to closely monitor their blood pressure, the “four fixed” principles should be ensured, namely fixed time, fixed location, fixed posture, and fixed blood pressure monitor. (3) Accurately measure blood pressure within 30 minutes before measurement without excessive exercise, smoking, mental changes or other factors that may affect blood pressure, keep your emotions stable, and do not wear sleeves that are too tight. (4) Select the appropriate cuff as required. (5) Do not inflate too quickly or too hard to prevent mercury from flowing out; do not deflate too quickly or too slowly to prevent reading deviations. (6) If you find that your blood pressure is inaudible or abnormal, you should remeasure it. When re-measuring, wait until the mercury column drops to the "0" point before taking accurate measurements. (7) Hemiplegic patients should be accurately measured on the healthy arm.
