A small hard lump grows next to the vulva

A small hard lump grows next to the vulva

If a small hard lump suddenly grows next to the vulva, it is necessary to find out the specific cause of the disease. If the cause is unknown, seeking treatment will only delay the actual disease condition and fail to get the correct treatment effect in time. Generally, for this kind of small hard lump, physical therapy and surgical treatment are required. Both methods have relatively small risks, but these two treatment methods must be used after diagnosis.

Topical medications

Before medication, apply 1% tetracaine locally for surface anesthesia to relieve pain.

① Apply 33%~50% trichloroacetic acid externally once a week. Generally, the lesions will disappear after 1-3 times. Trichloroacetic acid has low toxicity, does not damage the surrounding normal skin, and does not form scars after the lesions are repaired. It can be used for vaginal and cervical lesions.

② Apply 1% phthalamide ointment 3-5 times a day. It is expected to be cured in 4-6 weeks. It has little irritation and is widely used.

③Apply 10%-25% podophyllum resin to the lesions. This drug is cytotoxic, can inhibit the M phase of cell division, and is highly irritating. Be careful not to apply it to normal skin. It cannot be used for vaginal and cervical lesions. Wash it off 2-4 hours after application. Apply once a week and can be used continuously for 3-4 times.

④For external use, 5% fluorouracil ointment, once a day. One course of treatment is 10 to 14 days. Generally, 1 to 2 courses of treatment are required.

Physical or surgical treatment

Physical therapy includes microwave, laser, and freezing. Microwaves coagulate at the base of the warts. Since it is a contact treatment, it can be applied to genital warts in any part of the body. Laser is suitable for warts in any part of the body and for warts that are difficult to treat, large in size, or multiple in number. Cryosurgery is suitable for warts that are smaller and have more localized lesions. Giant genital warts can be removed using a microwave knife or surgery. 3. Interferon Interferon has antiviral, antiproliferative and immune regulatory effects.

It can limit the replication of HPV virus; slow down the division rate of cells in the lesion site; and enhance the host's defense response to HPV infection. Commonly used genetically engineered recombinant interferon (YIFN) a-2a, with a dose of 1 million u, is injected intramuscularly once every other day for 3-4 weeks as a course of treatment. Local injection at the base of the lesion can also be used. Interferon is generally not used alone, but is mostly used as an auxiliary medication. For recurrent and stubborn genital warts, a biopsy should be taken promptly to rule out malignant transformation.

Chinese Medicine Treatment

【Treatment based on syndrome differentiation】

Genital warts are proliferative lesions of the genitals, anus and other parts caused by viruses. They appear as papule-like or cauliflower-like growths, are highly contagious, and often occur after unclean sexual contact. Western medicine uses topical drugs or laser, electrocautery and surgical resection, but some cases are prone to recurrence. Traditional Chinese medicine treats condyloma acuminatum by diagnosing and treating the external invasion of damp-heat evil toxins into the liver meridian. The combination of Wuwei Xiaodu Yin, which clears away heat and detoxifies, and Si Miao Wan, which clears away heat and dampness, activates blood circulation and reduces turbidity, has achieved satisfactory clinical results.
