Ovulation test negative but pregnant

Ovulation test negative but pregnant

For a woman to successfully conceive, an egg and sperm must combine. To determine whether an egg has been released, you can use an ovulation test strip. Some people use ovulation test strips to test for pregnancy after intercourse in addition to testing ovulation. Some people are pregnant even though the ovulation test is negative. What’s going on? Let’s take a look below.

Ovulation test strips can only detect ovulation, not early pregnancy, so it is normal if the ovulation test strip is negative but you are currently pregnant.

In addition, if the ovulation test paper shows negative during ovulation, it may be due to incorrect testing method, error in the test paper, or incorrect testing time.

Ovulation test strips mainly detect luteinizing hormone in urine. This hormone can be affected by many factors, so the test results are not 100% accurate. Clinically, B-ultrasound is the main method to monitor follicle development.

Ovulation test strips

Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Two colored bands appear and the test line is equal to or darker than the control line. This indicates that the LH surge has occurred, meaning that ovulation will occur within 24-48 hours.

The main function is to increase the pregnancy rate through test strips.

Ovulation test strips and how to use them

Women ovulate every month. After an egg matures in the ovary, it is released from the ovary and transported to the uterus through the fallopian tube. The pregnancy process is formed by the combination of a mature egg and sperm in the fallopian tube. Sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for about 24-72 hours, while the suitable time for an egg to be fertilized is only about 24-36 hours after ovulation. During each menstrual cycle of a woman, the luteinizing hormone (LH) in her urine will peak 24-48 hours before ovulation. The ovulation test strip can accurately detect the peak level of LH, allowing women to predict the best time for conception.

(The test paper should be stored at room temperature and away from light. If placed in a refrigerator, it should be rewarmed before use)

1. Collect urine in a clean, dry container. Do not use morning urine. The best time to collect urine is from 10 am to 8 pm. Try to use urine samples at the same time every day. Reduce water intake 2 hours before collecting urine because diluted urine samples will hinder the detection of LH peak.

2. Immerse the end of the test strip with the arrow mark into the urine, take it out after about three seconds and lay it flat for 10-20 minutes.

Observe the results, the results are based on reading within 30 minutes!

3. The depth of the test paper inserted into the urine should not exceed the MAX mark line.

Result interpretation:

1 Two purple-red lines appear, and the lower line (test line) is significantly lighter than the upper line (control line), indicating that the LH in urine has not yet reached a peak value and must be tested every day;

2 Two purple-red lines appear, and the upper and lower lines (control line and test line) are basically the same color, or the lower line (test line) is darker than the upper line (control line), indicating that you will ovulate within 24-48 hours;

3. A purple-red line (control line) appears at the upper end of the test strip, indicating no ovulation.
