We can usually judge whether we have cervical cancer based on these symptoms. What are the symptoms of cervical cancer?

What are the symptoms of cervical cancer?

1. Vaginal bleeding: Young patients often experience contact bleeding, which occurs during sexual intercourse, gynecological examinations, and after defecation. The amount of bleeding may be more or less, generally depending on the size of the lesion and the extent of invasion of the interstitial blood vessels. The amount of bleeding is small in the early stage, but in the late stage, the lesions are larger and manifest as massive bleeding. Once larger blood vessels are eroded, fatal massive bleeding may occur. Young patients may also experience prolonged menstruation, shortened cycle, increased menstrual flow, etc. Elderly patients often complain of irregular vaginal bleeding after menopause.

2. Vaginal discharge: Patients often complain of increased vaginal discharge, which is white or bloody, thin like water or rice soup, and has a fishy odor. In the late stage, due to the rupture of cancerous tissue, tissue necrosis, secondary infection, etc., a large amount of purulent or rice-soup-like foul-smelling leucorrhea is discharged.

3. Symptoms of advanced cancer: Secondary symptoms appear according to the extent of lesion invasion. When the lesions spread to the pelvic connective tissue, pelvic wall, and compress the ureter or rectum, or sciatic nerve, patients often complain of frequent urination, urgency, anal distension, constipation, tenesmus, swelling and pain in the lower limbs, etc. In severe cases, it can lead to ureteral obstruction, hydronephrosis, and finally uremia. In the late stages of the disease, patients may experience weight loss, anemia, fever and general exhaustion.

What to pay attention to in preventing cervical cancer:

1. Advocate late marriage and fewer and better births. Delaying the age of starting sexual life and reducing the number of births can reduce the chance of cervical cancer.

2. What should we pay attention to in preventing cervical cancer? Actively treat cervicitis. Those with long-term increased leucorrhea or abnormal vaginal bleeding should go to the hospital for examination immediately and take effective treatment measures.

3. Pay attention to sexual hygiene and menstrual hygiene. Moderate sex life appropriately, avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation and the postpartum period, pay attention to the cleanliness of both parties' reproductive organs, wear condoms during sexual intercourse, and reduce and eliminate multiple sexual partners.

4. Have regular gynecological examinations and cervical smears. It is recommended that married women have a gynecological examination and cervical cancer prevention examination once a year. If any abnormality is found in the cervix, further examination and treatment should be carried out in a timely manner. Cervical smear cytology is the simplest and most effective screening method, and colposcopic biopsy is the best method for diagnosis.
