How long will it take to give birth if there is edema before delivery?

It is very hard for women to be pregnant, especially in the late stages of pregnancy. Some pregnant women will experience edema all over their bodies and may not even be able to get out of bed to walk around. However, this situation will basically only become serious when the baby is about to be born. Of course, everyone's physical fitness is different, and some pregnant women will never experience edema. Therefore, women must pay attention to their nutrition and habits during pregnancy to ensure comfort throughout the pregnancy.

How long will it take to give birth if there is edema before delivery?

It is normal to have edema before delivery. Most pregnant women will encounter this situation. There are physiological factors, such as compression of the lower limbs due to the enlargement of the uterus, and pathological factors, such as high blood pressure. Be sure to pay attention to make a distinction. Edema cannot indicate how long it will take to give birth. There is no direct connection between the two. Therefore, do not judge the time of delivery based on the edema.

What are the symptoms before delivery?

1. 1 to 2 days before the baby is born, a small amount of blood-colored viscous liquid flows out. This is called spotting. Due to the contraction of the uterus, the baby's head begins to enter the pelvis. When the fetal membrane slowly separates from the uterus and produces friction, it will cause blood vessels to rupture and spotting will occur. The red mucus is the blood in the secretions. Some women may give birth a week after the spotting.

2. When the baby is about to be born, there will be contractions several times a day, and each time will last about 30 seconds. As the delivery date approaches, the intervals between contractions will become shorter and shorter. If there is a contraction every 15 minutes, you need to be admitted to the hospital in time.

3. Rupture of amniotic fluid is the most obvious symptom of labor. This fluid flows out of the vagina and is colorless and transparent. It is mainly due to the increase in uterine cavity pressure caused by the contraction of the uterus, which causes the cervical opening to widen, and the fetal head to descend, causing the fetal membrane to rupture and the fluid to flow out. When a woman's amniotic fluid ruptures, she must lie flat on her back and go to the hospital.

In short, different physiques will have different reactions to this situation. Some people will not experience edema from pregnancy to birth, so if edema occurs, you still have to calculate the time of the baby's birth based on the time of the last menstrual period.
