What causes pelvic pain during pregnancy?

Basically all pregnant women will face a lot of pain that is unbearable for the body during pregnancy. For example, pelvic pain is a problem that many pregnant women will face during pregnancy. If a pregnant woman has unexplained pain in her pelvis, she needs to consider whether there is a problem of pubic separation. At this time, she needs to go to the hospital for treatment in time. Below we explain to pregnant women the causes of pelvic pain during pregnancy.

In order to make the baby pass through the pelvis as smoothly as possible, the mother's body produces a hormone called pubic relaxin, which can soften the ligaments in the pelvis. Ligamentary relaxation can cause the joint to move more easily than it would if you were not pregnant. It is these shifts in joint position that can easily lead to pain.

The pain often occurs on one side and may be concentrated in the hip area. The pain sometimes switches suddenly from one side to the other or may be accompanied by back pain. You may also feel a sharp pain in the buttocks or down the back of the leg. Many pregnant women experience buttock pain in the 8th month of pregnancy for this reason.

If there is tingling or numbness and the pain extends to the knee, it is most likely sciatica rather than pelvic pain. Sciatica may also cause pain in the buttocks, weakness in one or both legs, and even an inability to lift the leg, especially when landing. To relieve bone pain, you can do the following:

1. Place a small pillow between your legs when you sleep.

2. When turning over in bed and moving your feet and hips, try to keep them parallel and move slowly.

3. If your physical condition allows, you can reduce the pressure on your joints by swimming.

4. When standing, your legs should be symmetrical.

5. Constrain the pelvis: Use an elastic band 25-30cm wide to constrain the pelvis to increase the load-bearing capacity of the pelvis. The upper edge of the band should not be higher than the pubic symphysis to avoid compressing the abdomen and affecting the growth and development of the fetus. The tightness of the band should be based on what the pelvis can tolerate, while not seriously affecting the venous return of the lower limbs.
