Where is the female appendicitis located?

Where is the female appendicitis located?

Appendicitis has become a common disease nowadays. This disease has no age limit. People of all ages will suffer from this disease. Even many female friends will suffer from appendicitis. If this disease is not treated properly, the condition will worsen. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to taking some painkillers to improve the condition when the pain is more severe.

The clinical manifestations of acute appendicitis are diverse and sometimes very similar to other acute abdominal diseases, and some diseases also resemble appendicitis. But in comparison, the progressive nature of symptoms and signs is its most important feature.

1. Symptoms

(1) Metastatic right lower abdominal pain: The typical abdominal pain begins in the upper abdomen, gradually moves to the navel, and finally metastasizes and is confined to the right lower abdomen. Its main characteristics are as follows: once the pain moves to the right lower abdomen, the pain in the initial abdominal pain site (upper abdomen and umbilicus) disappears.

It means that the abdominal pain does not spread but metastasizes. Therefore it is called "metastatic right lower abdominal pain". The duration of the metastatic right lower abdominal pain depends on the extent of the lesion and the location of the appendix. It can be as fast as about 2 hours or as slow as 1 day or longer. 70% to 80% of patients have this typical metastatic abdominal pain, and some cases experience right lower abdominal pain at the onset of the disease. Abdominal pain is generally persistent and may be mild at the beginning and easily ignored by the patient. Different types of appendicitis also cause different abdominal pains. For example, simple appendicitis presents with mild dull pain; purulent appendicitis presents with paroxysmal bloating and severe pain; gangrenous appendicitis presents with persistent severe abdominal pain; and perforated appendicitis may temporarily relieve abdominal pain due to a sudden decrease in pressure in the appendix cavity, but after peritonitis occurs, the abdominal pain will continue to worsen.

The location of abdominal pain varies with inflammation of the appendix in different locations. For example, if the appendix is located behind the cecum, the pain is in the lateral waist; if the appendix is located in the pelvic area, the abdominal pain is in the suprapubic area; if the appendix is located in the subhepatic area, it can cause right upper abdominal pain; if the appendix is located in the left lower abdomen, it can cause left lower abdominal pain, which should be paid attention to.

(2) Gastrointestinal symptoms: In the early stage of the disease, there may be anorexia, nausea, vomiting, etc., but the degree is relatively mild. Vomiting usually occurs within a few hours after the onset of abdominal pain and does not occur frequently. In some cases, diarrhea may occur. In pelvic appendicitis, inflammation irritates the rectum and bladder, causing symptoms of defecation and tenesmus. Diffuse peritonitis can cause paralytic ileus, which is manifested by abdominal distension and reduced flatulence and defecation.

Systemic symptoms: early fatigue. When the inflammation is severe, symptoms of poisoning will appear, the heart rate will increase, and the body temperature may rise to around 38°C. When the appendix perforates, the body temperature may be higher, reaching 39°C or 40°C. But a rise in temperature does not precede abdominal pain. If portal vein inflammation occurs, chills, high fever and mild jaundice may occur.
