If there is a lump in the accessory breast and it is painful when pressed, it may be a case of breast hyperplasia or lymphadenitis. Because there are a lot of lymphatic tissues around the accessory breast, inflammation of the lymph nodes will usually cause lumps and pain in the accessory breast. Breast hyperplasia is the factor that causes lumps and pain in the accessory breast. In this case, the breast hyperplasia needs to be removed surgically, otherwise it will cause greater harm to the patient. 1. Lymphadenitis Lymphadenitis refers to non-specific inflammation of the affected lymph nodes due to chronic or acute inflammation in the area where the lymph nodes are located. For example, if the upper limbs, breasts, chest wall, back and abdominal wall above the navel are infected, it will cause axillary lymphadenitis. If the lower limbs, abdominal wall below the navel, perineum and buttocks are locally infected, inguinal lymphadenitis may occur. When the head, face, oral cavity, neck and shoulders are infected, it will cause submandibular and cervical lymphadenitis. Clinically, this inflammation can be divided into two categories: acute and chronic according to the speed of onset and duration of pathology. Acute lymphadenitis manifests itself in local redness and swelling on the patient's body. The disease develops rapidly and is usually accompanied by a hot head. Pressing the local lymph nodes causes pain, and the surface is unconnected and smooth. Generally, the redness and swelling will subside on their own after anti-infection treatment. When the disease is severe, it will turn into an abscess and even infect the whole body. Chronic lymphadenitis appears to have a longer cycle, but the symptoms are not obvious, and eventually the lymph nodes may shrink or disappear on their own. 2. Sebaceous cyst Sebaceous cyst, commonly known as "sebaceous cyst", occurs because the sebaceous gland excretion ducts of the human body are blocked. The contents of the sebaceous gland cystic epithelium gradually increase and swell to become a retention cyst, which is a benign lesion that grows slowly. The cyst contains secretions similar to white bean curd dregs. People of all ages may suffer from this symptom, but it usually affects young people and is more common on the head, face, chest and back. If it becomes infected, it may become more painful or fester. When there is no concurrent infection, patients generally do not feel this symptom. The tumor of a cyst is generally ball-shaped, large or small, elastic and hard. It is slightly higher than the skin surface and is not easily pushed. Its surface appears smooth and has no undulations. |
