How to scientifically manage confinement

Confinement is the primary task for mothers after giving birth. It not only directly affects the physical condition and health of new mothers, but also indirectly affects the growth and development of babies if mothers choose to breastfeed. Therefore, how to have confinement scientifically is an issue that most female friends are very concerned about. If you don't take good care of yourself during the confinement period, it is easy to develop a chronic disease. Next, let’s take a look at how to do confinement scientifically.

1. Pay attention to rest. Rest is the top priority during confinement. After giving birth, you must rest at home, pay attention to sleep, and don't let yourself get tired again, but never lie in bed for a whole month. Usually, you should be able to start walking around the day after your baby is born.

2. Pay attention to the recovery of the uterus. After delivery, you should pay attention to the recovery of the uterus, that is, observe the color of the lochia changing from red to white, the amount gradually decreasing, and the smell from bloody to odorless. Generally, it should be discharged after one month. If the lochia is not clear or abnormal, you should see a doctor in time. Remember to go to the hospital for a postpartum check-up 6-8 weeks after delivery.

3. Keep a happy spirit. Due to physiological changes, women after childbirth are more mentally fragile, and coupled with increased stress, they are likely to develop postpartum depression. Therefore, it is important to maintain a happy atmosphere at home, especially the husband should be more considerate of his wife and give her support both spiritually and in life.

4. Arrange your diet reasonably. In the first few days after delivery, your body is very weak. It has to recover its own physiological functions while breastfeeding. Therefore, you need sufficient heat energy and various nutrients, while also taking into account your gastrointestinal function that has not yet fully recovered.

5. Keep clean and hygienic. From the second day after delivery, you can comb your hair, brush your teeth and rinse your mouth as usual. Combing your hair will get your blood flowing. Increased spirit. If you have some problems with your gums, you can wrap your fingers with gauze and rinse your mouth first. This can promote blood circulation and strengthen teeth.

6. Exercise appropriately. Persisting in necessary physical exercises during the confinement period and doing some postpartum gymnastics can help restore your physical condition and body shape.

7. Absolutely avoid sexual intercourse. The female reproductive organs undergo the trauma of pregnancy and childbirth, and it takes some time for them to return to normal. It takes 56 days for the mother's body to fully recover. You can only start sexual life 56 days after a normal delivery, and it is best to start sexual life after menstruation resumes. For those who had forceps or suture delivery, they can only start having sex after the wound has healed and the scar has formed; if it was a caesarean section, they have to wait at least three months.
