Preparation method: Boil angelica, dried ginger and tangerine peel in water for 30 minutes, remove the residue, beat the eggs and add rice wine and red dates into the juice, then boil until the red dates are rotten, drink the soup and eat the eggs and dates.

Therapeutic effect: Mainly treats dysmenorrhea due to deficiency of Qi and blood: during menstruation or after menstruation, there is continuous pain in the lower abdomen, which is relieved by pressing. The menstrual blood is light in color and thin in quality. The complexion is pale and the spirit is tired. The tongue is light red, the tongue coating is thin white, and the pulse is weak and thready.

Precautions

Those with excessive heat and bleeding should not take Angelica sinensis. Those with excessive dampness, fullness in the middle, loose stools, and pregnant women should take Angelica sinensis with caution.

People with yin deficiency, internal heat, and blood heat should not take dried ginger, and dried ginger is incompatible with coptis chinensis, scutellaria baicalensis, and radix scutellariae.

2. Hawthorn, cinnamon and brown sugar soup

Ingredients: 15 grams of hawthorn meat, 5 grams of cinnamon twig, 30-50 grams of brown sugar.

Preparation method: Put hawthorn pulp and cinnamon twigs into a clay pot, add 2 bowls of water, simmer over low heat until 1 bowl of water remains, add brown sugar, mix well, and bring to a boil.

Therapeutic effect: It has the effects of warming the meridians and dredge blood vessels, removing blood stasis and relieving pain.

Suitable for women suffering from cold dysmenorrhea and those with dull complexion.

Massage method: The patient lies on his back on the bed and rubs his hands to warm them up first.

Then place both hands on the lower abdomen, massage from top to bottom 60 to 100 times, then massage from left to right 60 to 100 times, and finally massage in a circle 60 times until the local skin becomes rosy. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening every day.

External application method: Grind 5 grams each of Chuanwu and Caowu into fine powder, then mix with onion juice and honey and apply to the painful area in the lower abdomen for 2 to 3 hours. Once a day.

Acupuncture: The best time for acupuncture is before or during dysmenorrhea.

The acupoints selected are mainly those of the spleen meridian, including Xuehai, Diji and Sanyinjiao, and the needles are retained for 1 hour. Take once a day, 1 to 3 times can relieve pain. Continuous treatment for three menstrual cycles can cure the disease.
