Pregnancy belly changes

Pregnancy belly changes

The belly will continue to grow during pregnancy, mainly because the development of the fetus will support the belly. After delivery, the belly will automatically recover, but the degree of contraction of the belly may decrease, which will cause symptoms of stretch marks. When you are four months pregnant, you can see that your belly is getting bigger and your body is getting fatter. Pregnancy is difficult to detect, and the size of the belly is related to the pregnant woman's physical condition.

1. When you are one month pregnant, the expectant mother is almost the same as before pregnancy, with basically no special changes. The uterine wall becomes soft and thickened, but there is no apparent change in size or shape; it is about the size of an egg. At this time, due to the imbalance of hormone secretion in the body, more sensitive expectant mothers will experience symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

2. At 2 months of pregnancy, as the gestational weeks increase, the expectant mother's uterine wall becomes very soft and the cervix becomes thicker to protect the uterus. Generally, the first formal prenatal check-up is performed between the 8th and 12th week of pregnancy. The first check-up usually includes medical interviews, weight and blood pressure measurement, fetal heart rate monitoring, urine and blood tests, and checking the size of the uterus.

3. At 3 months of pregnancy, the expectant mother's uterus now looks like a grapefruit. The uterus gradually increases in size as the fetus grows. The fundus of the uterus can be touched above the pubic symphysis, and the fetus has filled the entire uterus. The enlarged uterus begins to compress the bladder and rectum located in the front and back, reducing bladder capacity, causing frequent urination and a feeling of incomplete urine discharge.

4. At 4 months of pregnancy, the expectant mother's uterus begins to grow and grow out of the pelvis. There will be an obvious bulge under the belly button. The mother can feel her uterus 7.6 to 10 cm below the belly button!

5. During the 5th month of pregnancy, the expectant mother's uterus gradually grows larger, pushing the abdomen outward, causing the belly to bulge outward. The expectant mother can easily feel her uterus about 1.8 cm below the navel.

6. At 6 months of pregnancy, the uterus is now above the navel, about 8 cm above the navel. If measured from the pubic symphysis to the bottom of the uterus, it is about 28 cm. Because the uterus grows rapidly and presses the internal organs upward, expectant mothers may feel chest tightness and difficulty breathing.

7. When pregnant for 7 months, the expectant mother's abdomen bulges obviously, the fundus of the uterus rises to 1 to 2 horizontal fingers above the navel, the height of the uterus is 24 to 26 centimeters, the body leans slightly backward to maintain balance, and the waist is prone to fatigue and pain. Due to the enlargement of the placenta, the growth of the fetus and the increase of amniotic fluid, the weight of the expectant mother increases rapidly, up to 500 grams per week. At the same time, the enlarged uterus increases the pressure on the pelvic cavity, aggravates the obstruction of venous return in the lower body, and hemorrhoids may occur.

8. When pregnant for 8 months, the expectant mother will experience symptoms of late false pregnancy and uterine contractions (such as a tight belly). Due to the needs of delivery and postpartum breastfeeding, the expectant mother's body will undergo great changes. Your breasts may begin to secrete colostrum, and your lower abdomen may become increasingly tight.

9. At 9 months of pregnancy, the uterus enlarges and takes up a large space in the abdominal cavity, almost occupying most of the abdominal cavity, compressing the stomach and diaphragm, causing them to move upward, and compressing the heart, causing palpitations, shortness of breath, bloating, and poor appetite. You feel hungry after a little activity, but feel full after eating a little food; the frequency of urination also increases, and there are gradually waves of uterine contractions.

10. When pregnant for 10 months, the expectant mother will feel her belly moving downward, her breathing will become easier, and her stomach bloating will be relieved. At this time, the head of the fetus moves down into the entrance of the pelvic cavity. When the pregnancy is full-term, accompanied by waves of abdominal pain, the uterus begins to contract, and will forcefully deliver the mature fetus.
