Is vaginitis easy to treat?

Is vaginitis easy to treat?

Vaginitis is not an easy disease to treat because it is contagious and can cause uterine pain and itching, so we should pay attention to the treatment of vaginitis. For disease like vaginitis, we should pay attention to vaginal hygiene in our daily life, and we can use disinfectant and bactericidal solution to clean the vagina. As long as girls cooperate with the doctor for treatment, they can be cured.

How to treat vaginitis

The treatment methods for vaginitis caused by different causes are also different. To treat the disease, we must first find the cause, and the same applies to the treatment of vaginitis. Let's take a closer look at how to treat several common vaginal inflammations!

1. Bacterial vaginitis: The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge with a fishy odor, which is especially aggravated after sexual intercourse and may be accompanied by mild vulvar itching or burning sensation. Topical medications can be used for treatment, such as metronidazole suppositories, once a night for 7 consecutive days. Or take meprobamate (clomiphene) for 3 days. If other pathogens are detected, use medication to target them and avoid the abuse of antibiotics.

2. Trichomonas vaginitis: If Trichomonas multiplies in large numbers in the vagina, vaginal secretions will increase and the vulva will feel tingling and itching. The treatment method is to use vaginal suppositories after washing the vagina. After 3 to 4 times of continuous treatment, the stinging and itching in the vagina will be relieved. After that, daily treatment should be continued for about two weeks. Treating this type of vaginitis requires considerable patience and you cannot give up halfway, otherwise it will be difficult to cure.

3. Candidal vaginitis: The inflammation caused by vaginal infection with Candida albicans is called candidal vaginitis. It is most common in pregnant women. Candida can survive in an environment with low acidity. During treatment, you can take vaginal suppositories such as trichomoniasis and apply ointment to the genitals. The treatment should be continued for at least 2 weeks because candidal vaginitis is prone to recurrence.

4. Senile vaginitis: Senile vaginitis is common in elderly women after menopause. The vagina shows senile changes, the epithelium atrophies, the folds disappear, and the epithelium becomes smooth and thin. The principle of treatment is to supplement estrogen, enhance vaginal resistance and inhibit bacterial growth. Apply estrone ointment topically twice a day, or flush the vagina with 1% lactic acid or 0.5% acetic acid solution once a day.

5. Infantile vaginitis: Infantile vaginitis mostly occurs in young girls aged 2 to 9 years old and is a common disease among female infants and young children. Patients should pay attention to keeping the vulva clean. The therapeutic effect can be achieved by flushing the vagina and vulva with pepper water or Liuyi Powder (containing talc and licorice).

6. Vaginitis during pregnancy: Due to changes in hormone levels during pregnancy, the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina are prone to changes, making it easy to develop vaginitis. Pregnant women are prone to vaginal candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, and bacterial vaginosis. Generally speaking, no treatment is needed during the first 3 months of pregnancy. If the condition develops seriously, the doctor will prescribe medication after 3 months of pregnancy. Vaginal Candida vaginitis is best treated topically, and nystatin suppositories can also be used topically in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Vaginitis during pregnancy caused by other reasons can also refer to the corresponding treatment methods.
