Normal ovulation bleeding color

Women start menstruating after the age of twelve, and during puberty, eggs are released. An egg is a cell unique to females, and one is released every month. During the ovulation period, there will be a small amount of vaginal bleeding, and the color of the blood is dark red. If other colors appear, it means that the ovulation is abnormal. In terms of a 28-day menstrual cycle, ovulation bleeding usually occurs between the 14th and 16th days of menstruation, which varies depending on the individual menstrual cycle. There is no definitive answer to the cause of ovulation bleeding, but it may be related to the following factors.

1. Bleeding caused by decreased estrogen: Under normal circumstances, the menstrual cycle is controlled by the growth and development of follicles, ovulation, and the formation and degeneration of the corpus luteum. The endometrium grows, develops and sheds under the action of estrogen and progesterone secreted by follicles and corpus luteum, forming menstruation. Normally, only one follicle grows and develops to maturity during a menstrual cycle. As the follicle grows, the estrogen secretion by the follicle gradually increases, forming a peak before ovulation. As the mature follicle ruptures and ovulates, estrogen levels drop sharply, unable to maintain the growth of the endometrium, causing local rupture and shedding of the surface layer of the endometrium, resulting in breakthrough bleeding. Afterwards, with the formation of the corpus luteum, sufficient amounts of estrogen and progesterone are secreted, and the ruptured surface layer of the endometrium is quickly repaired and the bleeding stops.

2. Some researchers believe that ovulation bleeding is caused by the mature follicles secreting more estrogen before ovulation, which leads to high congestion of the endometrium and leakage of some red blood cells, resulting in bleeding.

3. Some information suggests that during ovulation, the umbrella part of the fallopian tube absorbs the egg and at the same time absorbs the blood-containing follicular fluid into the fallopian tube, which is then sent to the uterine cavity along with the peristalsis of the fallopian tube and flows out of the vagina.
