Does Qinggong require hospitalization?

In life, some couples are very much looking forward to pregnancy, but some couples will get pregnant unexpectedly when they are not ready. At this time, if they do not want the baby, they have to have an abortion. However, there are two types of abortion: medical and surgical. Some women choose medical abortion, which will cause the tissue in the uterus to not be cleared clean, and then they have to undergo a uterine curettage. Although uterine curettage is a minor operation and generally does not require attention, you must choose the best time for abortion so that the harm to women's bodies is minimized.

Does uterine curettage require hospitalization?

Curettage generally does not require hospitalization. Curettage refers to a surgery to scrape and collect endometrial tissue in the uterus. It is a common surgery in obstetrics and gynecology and is also one of the methods of artificial abortion. Curettage has very few risks, and patients can normally resume normal activities once they feel well enough (usually the same day).

Is there bleeding after uterine curettage?

Generally, after a uterine curettage, the bleeding will stop in three days at most. Usually, it will be clean on the second day. Because the abortion with medicine is not clean, there will always be bleeding and it won’t stop, and it’s only a little bit. Therefore, after uterine cleaning, the patient will generally be clean the next day. Uterine cleaning has a great impact on the body and the uterus. It may cause the thinning of the uterine wall or cause scars, which will affect the implantation of the next fertilized egg. It is best done under hysteroscopy.

You should rest for half a year after the operation, and it is recommended to have a follow-up examination after about one year. It is normal for the amount of bleeding after curettage to be small and the bleeding time to not exceed 7 days, which means that the curettage was very successful. After curettage, you can take some anti-inflammatory medicine, do not eat spicy food, eat more nutritious food, and pay more attention to your body.

What is the difference between curettage and abortion?

1. Abortion and curettage

Curettage of artificial abortion means that medical abortion is not completely clean and the residual embryonic tissue in the uterus needs to be cleaned out mechanically. If medical abortion fails, uterine curettage is required. After taking the medicine, the patient usually needs to stay in the hospital for observation for 4-6 hours. During the observation period, regardless of whether the embryonic sac is seen to be expelled, as long as the patient has severe vaginal bleeding, uterine curettage should be performed immediately to stop the bleeding. The amount of vaginal bleeding after medical abortion is less. You should go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination one week later to confirm the condition of the embryo. If the embryo is not dead and continues to grow, curettage can terminate the pregnancy; if the embryo is dead but not expelled (embryo arrest), curettage can remove the pregnancy products in the uterine cavity and prevent bleeding and infection. After medical abortion, although the embryonic sac is seen to be discharged, the vaginal bleeding is not clean, or it is sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes not, and sometimes not for more than three weeks. B-ultrasound examination shows residual tissue, and the uterus needs to be cleaned so that the endometrium can gradually repair. It should be noted that since the long-term presence of pregnancy residues can cause intrauterine infection, leading to endometritis, myometritis or adnexitis, antibiotics must be used before and after curettage to prevent or treat infection.

2. Curettage

Curettage and dilation is a procedure to scrape out the endometrium or uterine cavity contents. This is a minor surgery commonly performed in obstetrics and gynecology and is one of the methods of artificial abortion. It is divided into two categories: diagnostic curettage and therapeutic curettage. Diagnostic curettage is divided into general diagnostic curettage and segmented diagnostic curettage. Therapeutic curettage can be divided into suction curettage and forceps curettage. Suction curettage is the use of a negative pressure suction tube to suck out the contents of the uterine cavity, while forceps curettage is the use of an oval forceps to remove the contents of the uterine cavity, followed by curettage. The indications for therapeutic curettage include: those who want to terminate the pregnancy in early pregnancy, suction curettage within 3 months of pregnancy, forceps curettage to remove residual materials in the uterine cavity after 3 months and after induced abortion; those who need to empty the uterine cavity for incomplete abortion, inevitable abortion, missed abortion, retained placenta, hydatidiform mole, etc.

When is the best time for abortion?

The best time for abortion is about 9 weeks before pregnancy, but you must make good preparations before the operation and determine the pregnancy time. The best time for medical abortion cannot guarantee a 100% success rate. Generally, the success rate of medical abortion is only 75%. If a woman secretly performs a medical abortion at home without the guidance of a doctor, the 75% success rate will be greatly reduced.

Medical abortion is a combination of mifepristone and misoprostol. However, since it is not easy for the decidua to be discharged at the same time after abortion, it is easy to cause incomplete medical abortion, and surgical curettage is still required in the end. Moreover, medical abortion can cause prolonged vaginal bleeding and easily lead to infection. It is more likely to cause endometritis and salpingitis and lead to secondary infertility than painless abortion. It should be noted that medical abortion requires professional medical personnel to help observe the fetus and bleeding during the abortion process. Oral medications may cause discomfort, etc., so they can be dealt with in a timely manner. Therefore, you cannot perform a medical abortion at home.

If the embryo is too large, or even has grown bones, it cannot be sucked out with the largest straw. In this case, you can only be hospitalized and induce labor with medication or a water bag, and then have the uterus cleaned after the embryo and most of the placenta are expelled.
