What are the consequences of an incomplete abortion?

Whether it is a natural miscarriage or an artificial abortion, when choosing abortion, you should try your best to remove the excess secretions inside the uterus, otherwise it will easily cause certain harm to the female's uterus. Especially after a miscarriage or an artificial abortion, women should go to the hospital for a uterine cleaning examination after a period of time. This test can effectively detect whether there is any residue inside the uterus. If the abortion is incomplete, what harm will it cause to the female body?

What are the dangers of incomplete abortion?

1. Uterine perforation: The longer the gestational age, the higher the risk; the more miscarriages, the greater the chance of perforation. Other conditions such as abnormal uterine position or shape or previous uterine surgery may increase the chance of perforation.

2. Cervical or endometrial adhesion: During uterine dilatation and curettage, if the scraping is too rough, causing injury or inflammation of the cervix or endometrium, it is possible to produce postoperative cervical or endometrial adhesions and cause menstrual abnormalities, such as amenorrhea or too little menstrual flow. In severe cases, infertility may occur in the future.

3. Respiratory arrest: Aspiration pneumonia or respiratory arrest may occur during anesthesia.

4. Incomplete medication: Although oral medication abortion does not have the above-mentioned sequelae and can avoid some side effects of physical and mental harm to women, it is still necessary to pay attention to the possibility of heavy bleeding and incomplete abortion.

5. Incomplete abortion: If the operation is not performed completely, a small amount of fetal tissue will remain in the uterus, which may affect uterine contraction and cause continuous bleeding or cause adhesion, infection, etc. It is best to perform another careful surgery to remove the remaining tissue. Abnormal position or shape of the uterus is generally more likely to cause this sequelae.

6. Bacterial infection: If the instruments are not completely sterilized, or the surgeon himself does not pay attention to the aseptic process, it may cause intrauterine infection and even continue to spread upward to invade the fallopian tubes and pelvic cavity. In severe cases, it may cause ectopic pregnancy or infertility in the future.
